The cult classic horror franchise of Cannibal movies will be getting a new sequel in video game form. The first movie in the series, Jungle Holocaust, detailed the journey of an oil prospector named Robert Harper who becomes lost in the Amazon jungle and, after almost all of his friends are either lost, captured, or killed, must escape from a group of dangerous cannibals. The two following films, Cannibal Holocaust and Cut and Run, featured similar stories about cannibals focused around documentary filmmakers.

Now, it appears Cut and Run may be getting it's own sequel in the form of a graphic adventure game from the original director himself. According to a recent report by Gematsu, the Rome, Italy-based development company Fantastico Studio will help to create Cannibal, which is said to be "the fourth chapter following Italian Director Ruggero Deodato's Cannibal film trilogy." The game is slated to release on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, and mobile devices in November 2020 and will offer Deodato the chance, in his words, "to return to those atmospheres, to those themes, but trying something new: contaminating my world with the video games language is a new challenge... and I hope it will also help to bring young people closer to my narrative universe."

In addition to the release announcement, Fantastico Studio also unveiled a short trailer for the upcoming Cannibal game. While it doesn't reveal much about the gameplay or the art style of the final product, it does show players a nice look at the box art, as well as a few flashes to live action which reminds viewers exactly why the Cannibal films were so disturbing to begin with.
