YouTuber Nick Martinelli crafted a one-to-one replica of the Wunderwaffe DG-2 gun that appears in Call of Duty's Zombies mode. Considered the most powerful weapon in the Zombies franchise, the Wunderwaffe DG-2 is actually the second of the Wonder Weapons and first appeared on the Shi no Numa map in World at War. It's since made a few other appearances in the series, after quickly becoming a fan-favorite weapon.

The Wunderwaffe DG-2's power stems from its ability to push out upwards of 200,000 amps of electrical current. It essentially shoots incredibly potent bolts of electricity at anything that stands in its path, zombies included. Better still, the Wunderwaffe DG-2's electrical current can also be chained between enemies if they're in close proximity to one another. This makes the weapon an especially effective tool when trying to clear out multiple foes at once.

DIY YouTuber Nick Martinelli took it upon himself to turn the effective in-game weapon into a functional real-world replica. Apparently, Martinelli started work on the device for fellow YouTube creator PaymoneyWubby. The project itself first required Martinelli to print the necessary assets using a 3D Printer. Viewers can see the files for the assets via links in the video description. This replica isn't just for show, however. Unlike commercially available replicas of other iconic weapons, this Wunderwaffe DG-2 actually works. But instead of shooting chained electrical currents, Martinelli's version is capable of shooting fire.

Video game weapon replicas are a dime a dozen, but they don't all prove functional in the end. As such, it's neat to see someone pull off such a complex creation that actually works. No, this version of the Wunderwaffe DG-2 can't fire electrical boots; however, firing fire certainly seems to be the next best option.

The Wunderwaffe DG-2 does not appear in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Zombies mode, yet players are still enjoying all of the undead-filled fun the mode has on offer. In fact, as previously teased, Black Ops Cold War aims to continue the Dark Aether story with the advent of the "Firebase Z" map for Zombies. The map is slated to launch early next month on February 4th as a freebie for all Black Ops Cold War players.
