Call of Duty Warzone is ramping up alongside Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, continuing this saga for which battle royal continues to entertain their players the most. With titles like Fornite, also revving things up in Part 2 Season 2 by adding more dynamics, cosmetics, and gimmicks to their game to make things more interesting, Call of Duty Warzone has a bit to contend with. Regardless, the games themselves are unique to their own playstyles and objectives such as Warzone's Plunderer, where a team must collect the most money by looting, and stealing it from others. Hopefully having learned from Blackout in Call of Duty Black ops 4, keeping occupied with fresh and fun content, is the life-blood of battle royals and will be what separates them from the ones that have fallen short.

Call of Duty Warzone is cross-play enabled which allows players and their friends to interact with one another across platforms, bridging the gap between communities and creating a large collective player base. Of course, cross-play comes with its own issues such as connection latency and a variety of perceived problems enumerated by players on a regular basis individual to each game. So, here is a quick guide for all the platform loyalists and connection connoisseur's out there who don't like play nice with others.

Disabling Cross-Play in Call of Duty Warzone

While Call of Duty Warzone can be accessed separately from the game, if Call of Duty Modern Warfare is already installed, accessing Warzone will be done through the same application. In order to turn off cross-play, players must access the account settings from the options menu. After navigating there, the first sub-menu "online" will have the Cross-play option first on the list. Simply switch the slider from Enabled to Disabled and players will no longer have any company from anyone other than those on the same platform.

Unfortunately, Xbox players are unable to play any of the Warzone modes without cross-play enabled causing a lot of confusion and discontent. Console players have not been shy about sharing their discontent with PC players, as they tend to have a lot of options and tools in order to make the game more "comfortable" for them. Countless posts online including subreddits are providing examples of "cheaters" manipulating the game to their whims, including a kill cam of player annihilating others with perfectly landed head-shots from around corners effortlessly; those darn aim-bots.

As infinity-ward continues to monitor the situation and blow out the fires rising, hopefully, cross-play becomes more beneficial and less detrimental to the community. So for now, enjoy it!
