In Call of Duty: Warzone, players can use the Riot Shield to protect themselves from incoming gunfire and engage in gunfights on their terms. The ability to choose when to take cover and when to open fire allows the use of weapons that gamers would otherwise not always be in the ideal situation to use.
From shotguns to marksman rifles to RPGs, the Riot Shield enables players to have a variety of second weapons to excel in any given scenario. If a certain suggested weapon isn't to a gamer's preference, a similar one from the same class could be substituted.
Shotty To The Body
Loadout: Streetsweeper shotgun, Thermite, Gas Grenade, E.O.D., Overkill, Amped. Weapon attachments: Agency Choke, 14.4" Task Force, Ember Sighting Point, STANAG 18 RND, No Stock. For weapon substitutions, a fast-firing shotgun like the JAK-12 is recommended, as the pump shotguns have too long of a time-to-kill to be a viable option.
The Riot Shield and full-auto shotguns have a strong synergy, and the Streetsweeper is currently the best weapon in its class. The Gas Grenade and Thermite will help with crowd control and having an option to engage enemies outside of the shotgun's range. This loadout can quickly clear a room full of opponents if utilized effectively.
Maximum Power 7
Loadout: MP7 submachine gun, C4, Stun Grenade, Double Time, Overkill, Amped. Weapon attachments: Monolithic Suppressor, FSS RECON, 5mW Laser, 60 Round Mags, No Stock. For weapon substitutions, agile SMGs like the MAC-10 are recommended for quick-swapping between gun and shield.
This loadout is great for quickly taking down an enemy or two before repositioning for another sortie. This MP7 brings a sizeable magazine, good stopping power, a high fire rate, and among the best mobility in its class. Double Time and the Stun Grenades will allow one to run literal circles around opponents, and the C4 can displace enemies who have a superior position.
Stand Up And Take A Grau
Loadout: Grau 5.56 assault rifle, Proximity Mine, Heartbeat Sensor, Double Time, Overkill, Amped. Weapon attachments: Monolithic Suppressor, Tempus 26.4" Archangel, Tac Laser, Ranger Foregrip, 60 Round Mags. For weapon substitutions, full-auto ARs with low recoil and good effective range like the Kilo 141 or M13 are recommended for keeping shots on distant targets.
While Riot Shields are typically paired with the most mobile weapon classes like pistols, SMGs, and shotguns, Amped allows one to equip themselves with a great medium-ranged option like the Grau or Kilo. Double time will help compensate for the slower movement speed the assault rifle class brings, and the 60-round Grau can easily take down a distant enemy or two.
Potent Killing Machine
Loadout: PKM light machine gun, Proximity Mine, Heartbeat Sensor, E.O.D, Overkill, Amped. Weapon attachments: 18.2 " Compact Barrel, Tac Laser, Snatch Grip, Stippled Grip Tape, No Stock. For weapon substitutions, the M60 and RPD similarly excel in terms of magazine size, damage, recoil control, and range.
This PKM is customized to be as mobile as possible and allows one to quickly switch from the shield to 100 rounds of automatic fire that is easy to control and deals damage very effectively over long ranges. The Proximity Mine and Heartbeat Sensor work well to hold a position against aggressive attackers and the PKM is great for providing supporting fire or taking down an unsuspecting squad.
Tactical Rifleman
Loadout: M16 tactical rifle, Proximity Mine, Heartbeat Sensor, Cold-Blooded, Overkill, Amped. Weapon attachments: Flash Guard 5.56, 16.3" Rapid Fire, Visiontech 2x, 45 Rnd, Speed Tape. For weapon substitutions, 3-burst tactical rifles like the AUG and CARV-2 are viable alternatives.
The M16 and Riot Shield may be an unlikely duo, but it is a surprisingly effective one. Distant enemies will often see the shield and leave their cover, assuming the player is unable to fire back over long ranges. The M16 is a powerhouse that can accurately and quickly take down multiple opponents after lining up the ideal shooting angle from the safety of the Riot Shield.
Peek-A-Boo Sniping
Loadout: MK2 Carbine marksman rifle, Proximity Mine, Heartbeat Sensor, Cold-Blooded, Overkill, Amped. Weapon attachments: FSS 18.0" Factory, Cronen C480 Pro Optic, Cartridge Sleeve, Rubberized Grip Tape, Sleight of Hand. For weapon substitutions, other fast-firing marksman rifles like the EBR-14 and SKS would also be effective options.
One of the trickiest parts of winning a sniper battle is peeking at an enemy without getting shot oneself. Enemies can be marked while holding a shield, and the MK2 quickly returns accurate sniper rounds before an enemy can react. The Fire Rate of an MK2 combined with Sleight of Hand allows gamers to be generous with their shots, as opposed to a pure sniper rifle like the HDR.
Infiltrator
Loadout: Renetti pistol, C4, Snapshot Grenade, Cold-Blooded, High Alert, Spotter. Weapon attachments: Monolithic Suppressor, Mk3 Burst Mod, 5mw Laser, Lightweight Trigger, 27 Round Mags. For weapon substitutions, the .357 pistol with Snakeshot Ammo or full-auto variant of the Sykov pistol are also great choices.
This loadout allows the user to enter buildings and cross open spaces on the map in relative comfort, as High Alert and Spotter warn the player of any enemies who are aiming at them, and of any nearby traps or equipment (with the ability to hack them and use them as one's own). The Snapshot helps see where enemies are before making an advance, and the C4 brings extra lethality and crowd control to compliment the pistol.
Bombardier
Loadout: RPG-7 launcher (Black Ops variant), Molotov Cocktail, Gas Grenade, Kill Chain, Restock, Amped. Weapon attachments: N/A. For weapon substitutions, the CIGMA 2 adds a lock-on capability against enemy vehicles and delivers its payload more accurately, although is slower to wield and less effective against infantry.
With the ability to deliver up to 11 explosions (four grenades and seven rockets), the suggestion of this loadout is anything but bombastic. Kill Chain will allow the user to find more killstreaks in chests, possibly adding to the overall area-of-effect damage with Cluster Bombs and Precision Airstrikes. Amped also allows for faster reloading of the launcher, and one well-placed rocket is often enough to take down anyone caught in the blast.
Combat Medic
Loadout: Knife, Proximity Mine, Smoke Grenade, Cold-Blooded, Restock, Tune-Up. Weapon attachments: N/A. For weapon substitutions, any light secondary weapon like a pistol or melee weapon will suffice.
While reviving downed squadmates can often be a perilous endeavor, this loadout is equipped to be the designated medic for the team. Cold-Blooded and the Smoke Grenades conceal the player from enemies who are trying to finish their kill. Tune Up reduces revive time by 25%, and the Riot Shield can allow one to get into a position to revive their teammate in the first place.
Sticks And Stones
Loadout: Kali Sticks, Thermite, Stun Grenade, Double Time, Restock, Tracker. Weapon attachments: N/A. For weapon substitutions, other melee weapons like the Ballistic Knife or Dual Kodachis still provide the speed and close-range damage necessary.
This gunless loadout is no less lethal. Restock will provide a constant supply of grenades with which to stun an opponent, after which the player can stick them with a Thermite, or take advantage of Double Time to sprint to their enemy's flank and finish them with the Kali Sticks. Tracker will show the footsteps of those who try to run away or reposition, making it easier to close in for the melee kill.
