Even though Call Jane is set in 1968, the themes and struggles for women's rights feel more relevant than ever. With the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, setting back women's rights by decades, the story present in Call Jane strikes just as true today, presenting relevant commentary. The movie seeks to tell an important real-life story in a way that will impact and inform the current generation who may not know about the Jane Collective and all that the group did. For those moved by the Call Jane trailer, the film debuts in theaters on October 28.
