Horror icons Tobin Bell and Lin Shaye are seeking revenge in the trailer for The Call. Set in the fall of 1987, the movie focuses on a group of small-town friends who find themselves having to survive the night in the home of a sinister couple. The Call is headlined by Tobin Bell and Lin Shaye, who are well known, respectively, for their memorable roles in the Saw and Insidious franchises. Chester Rushing, Erin Sanders, Judd Lormand, and Sloane Morgan Siege also star.

The full trailer for The Call has now been released by Cinedigm. The preview highlights how a simple prank went horribly wrong for the four friends, as Bell’s character lures them in with a tempting offer which comes with an unimaginable cost. You can check out the trailer below.

Unlike many modern horror trailers, which suffer from the problem of revealing too much about the premise, The Call takes the approach of teasing disastrous events but remaining intriguingly vague about specifics. Shaye and Bell look to be the biggest draws of The Call, as the trailer smartly leans into the fact that the duo are teaming up to wreak havoc. Both performers are luminaries in the horror genre, with Bell helping to transform Jigsaw into an instantly iconic movie villain. For her part, Shaye has long been regarded as a scream queen. In addition to her turn as Elise Rainier in the Insidious movies, she’s appeared in classics such as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Critters. It should be a treat for audiences to see the two actors sharing scenes when The Call premieres in theaters on October 2.
