Call of Duty: Warzone’s new subway will be perhaps the safest place on the entire Verdansk map, but it still offers plenty of opportunities for ambushes. The subway looks to be the biggest change ever to Warzone’s massive map, with the potential to change the game even more than the much-anticipated opening of the stadium earlier this year.

Like Warzone’s stadium, its upcoming subway was something of an open secret before its reveal, but it garnered nowhere near the same amount of speculation. That’s largely because publisher Activision confirmed the subway’s existence not long after rumors began to fly and leaks started appearing online. A few weeks after images and video clips of Warzone’s subway first popped up, Activision made it official, even releasing a map of the subway’s route ahead of the Season 6 update that’s set to add it to the game.

Now, Activision is providing an even closer look at the Verdansk subway system. Scattered throughout Warzone's Verdansk map, there will be seven subway stations, though they won’t all be accessible at all times, due to the ever-closing circle that constricts the game’s action. The subway won’t stop at stations where the circle is causing damage, and there’s a strict no-fighting policy in effect on the train. Any combat will immediately halt the train, making subway trips a good chance to regroup with a squad. However, the subway also provides a huge opportunity for ambushes, as its winding tunnels and obvious exits make conditions perfect for players to lie in wait for others heading down to the tunnels or disembarking.

Call Of Duty_ Warzone Reveals Subway Map Ahead Of Season 6 Update

The Verdansk subway is set to debut in Call of Duty: Warzone on September 29th, along with the Season 6 update. Season 6 will also bring two new Operators to Warzone, Farah and Nikolai. These two characters are part of Call of Duty’s Season 6 Battle Pass. Both Farah and Nikolai are major players in the Modern Warfare campaign.

Despite being one of the newest battle royales on the block, Call of Duty: Warzone is quickly making a name for itself as one of the most dynamic. With the weight of a massive publisher like Activision behind it, Warzone has the resources to make major changes and take big risks with how it alters its map. Warzone is in for even more big changes soon, when Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches and begins influencing the battle royale. Until then, players might want to familiarize themselves with the new subway map, as it seems like riding the rails will be a major part of the game’s sixth season.
