The worst exploit afflicting Call of Duty: Warzone has made an unwelcomed return. The infinite stim glitch has reared its ugly head after Activision had supposedly purged it from Warzone in a recent patch. The cheat essentially removes an in-game healing item's cooldown, which gives cheaters access to an unlimited amount of health and stamina. This game-breaking technique was first reported back in October 2020, and after multiple attempts to remove it, Activision needs to take more drastic action.

Since they have an infinite pool of health, Stim glitchers can hide in the wall of poisonous gas that slowly closes in on Warzone's map until they're the last ones standing. That's infuriating for players who fought off dozens of others to make it to the final moments of the battle royale. Warzone's stim glitch has resurfaced several times over the past few months, even with developer Raven Software's intervention. It's high time Activision removes the Stim item from Warzone entirely.

That might seem like overkill for players who use the item fairly, but the fact that it has reappeared on numerous occasions suggests that Activision isn't sure how to rid the game of it. Allowing it to continue to fester will further compromise Warzone's integrity and, eventually, its player base because of how annoying it is to those following the rules.

The latest return of Warzone's stim glitch has greatly angered fans who hoped it was gone for good. After it was discovered, there was an outpour of complaints across Reddit and Call of Duty forums demanding that Activision eliminates stims. Many players are content to forfeit stims in exchange for never having to deal with the stim glitch ever again. Others suggested that Activision should temporarily pull them from Warzone until a permanent remedy has been developed.

Activision has recently cracked down on hackers and cheaters after a slew of content creators publicly complained about the issues. More than 60,000 Warzone accounts were reportedly banned on February 3, according to the company. It's unclear how many of those accounts were using the stim glitch, but Raven Software specifically told Warzone players that it was aware of the resurgence of stim glitching and that it was working on a fix.

Call of Duty News reported that a Raven dev had acknowledged stim glitching on Reddit, stating, "We're aware. A fix is scheduled." Neither Raven nor Activision has detailed what this fix could look like, but it would appear to be another patch that will hopefully remove stim glitching without pulling stims out of Warzone.

All of this comes weeks after Activision revealed it would be adding Warzone to the Call of Duty League as a premier esports title in 2021. The company came under fire by fans on social media who believe the battle royale's persistent cheating and hacking issues would undermine a Warzone circuit's competitive integrity. Removing stims would be unprecedented in the battle royale, but it would be the simplest way to ensure stim glitching doesn't pester current players and Warzone pros in the future.
