A secret cutscene has been found in Call of Duty: Warzone, teasing the return of Soap MacTavish and closing out the battle royale’s storyline for Modern Warfare. Rumors have been circulating for quite a while now that MacTavish, who first appeared in Black Ops 4, would eventually be added to the game.

Warzone recently started a whole new chapter with its integration with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. At the beginning of Black Ops Cold War’s Season One, the new game’s arsenal was brought into Warzone, kicking off a partnership between the two games like the one that Warzone until now had with Modern Warfare. Despite this being quite an anticipated event in Warzone’s development, fans were immediately dismayed to find that Black Ops Cold War’s guns don’t stack up to the weapons they’ve been using from Modern Warfare. As with most major content updates in ongoing Call of Duty games, Season One also brought a host of bugs to both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.

Before Warzone really gets going with its Black Ops Cold War content, though, there were some loose ends to tie up with Modern Warfare. YouTuber Geeky Pastimes recently posted a video showing the wrap-up of Warzone’s latest intel mission, which seemingly ended its Modern Warfare storyline in a surprise cutscene. As the video shows, once the mission is complete, players can watch the cutscene by going to missions under the challenges menu. At the end of a cutscene that shows Operator Price taking down Victor Zakahev once and for all, all of the current main Operators assemble and put in a call to none other than Soap MacTavish, saying that they’re heading his way.

The cutscene’s discovery comes just after Call of Duty leaker ModernWarzone shared new information claiming that, among other things, Soap MacTavish will soon be added to Modern Warfare as an Operator. New multiplayer maps and weapons were also leaked, but the reveal of MacTavish as an Operator was the news that fans have been most eager to hear.

There’s still no official word on when MacTavish will be heading to the game. Whenever he appears, though, it will likely be a welcome sight for players who are unhappy with Call of Duty: Warzone’s new content from Black Ops Cold War. The new Operator could be a great way to bridge the gap from Modern Warfare to Black Ops and start to get players more on board for what’s to come.
