With Call of Duty: Warzone hitting mobile, the question of how the game compares to its console or PC counterparts seems an obvious one many will be asking. Announced by Activision through some job listings in early March 2022, Call of Duty: Warzone seems to be the mobile standalone version of the hit battle royale game on the major gaming platforms. While a release date has yet to be announced, it's likely that the mobile version will be more than a simple port of the console or PC version.

Before the announcement of Call of Duty: Warzone, a Call of Duty game was already launched on Mobile in 2019 titled Call of Duty: Mobile. This was a mix of various features from Call of Duty from iconic maps like Rust, various remixed perks for Call of Duty: Mobile like Agile, classic multiplayer game modes, and even the battle royale mode from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, called Blackout. As a result, Call of Duty: Mobile was a success, largely due to this flow of content and how it intertwined with microtransactions, a balance that Call of Duty: Warzone may also look to strike.

While it's easy to scoff at mobile gaming, especially when compared to console or PC, Call of Duty: Mobile proved that a Call of Duty game could flourish on mobile without losing the franchise's spirit. Considering that Call of Duty: Mobile was a relatively smooth experience optimized for mobile and popular enough for fans to emulate Call of Duty: Mobile on PC, it's within the realm of possibility that Call of Duty: Warzone will follow suit in experience and gameplay. Moreover, unlike Call of Duty: Mobile, Warzone would be a more focused and nuanced experience focusing on battle royale than multiple game modes.

The Differences Between Call Of Duty: Warzone Mobile From Console & PC

From what was seen in Call of Duty: Mobile, Call of Duty: Warzone will bring an experience on par with consoles and PC. However, it would likely come at the cost of graphics and a more restrictive free-to-play monetization model. Like CoD: Mobile, Warzone will undoubtedly have to make some graphical sacrifices for better gameplay, unlike its more advanced and hardware-heavy counterparts. Moreover, despite CoD: Mobile mirroring the experience of the traditional Call of Duty games on console and PC, it was far heavier on microtransactions, and the same experience is likely to follow in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Call of Duty: Warzone mobile is part of a constantly growing game mode, to the point that Call of Duty: Warzone is too big on consoles and PC to realistically add more maps. Fortunately, considering that Call of Duty: Mobile was a success, Call of Duty: Warzone will likely follow suit when it comes out. However, liberties will need to be taken if Warzone on mobile will live up to the high bar set by the other major platforms. Regardless, Call of Duty: Warzone is seemingly offering a new-yet-familiar mobile experience to players curious about the battle royale game and who want to try out the game without the commitment.
