Call of DutyWarzone is about to launch the new Pacific Caldera map, and it could feature some familiar areas from Call of Duty: VanguardWarzone's battle royale action has taken place almost exclusively on the Verdansk map since launch, with Rebirth Island the setting for the alternate resurgence game mode. The two games are set to be integrated and players will be able to use weapons from Vanguard as well as learn which Vanguard mechanics will be annoying in Warzone.

Verdansk was overall a good map for battle royale, with lots of points of interest and different types of environments that players could take advantage of. The map received a big update in the Verdansk '84 event when Black Ops Cold War was integrated, which helped keep things fresh. Now, however, many players are tired of Verdansk and have been playing Rebirth Island instead while they wait for Caldera to launch. Thankfully, season six of Cold War and Warzone features the last days of Verdansk event which will send the map off in an explosive fashion. Additionally, the Call of Duty developers have finally revealed Warzone's Caldera map and POIs, so players can get thinking about where they will be dropping in.

Caldera is going to be a big map, and with 16 different areas marked on it, there are likely to be some maps from Call of Duty: Vanguard in Caldera that players can visit. Adding multiplayer maps into the Call of Duty battle royales is not a new thing with maps like Firing Range appearing in Black Ops 4's 'Blackout' BR mode, and the maps Summit and Scrapyard becoming POIs in Warzone. Old maps being added to Call of Duty's battle royale is such a popular thing, that one player pitched a new Warzone map made entirely of old Modern Warfare maps. Either way, adding multiplayer maps to Warzone is a good thing for both developers and players, as it takes less time for developers to add something that already exists, and it gives players familiar spaces which help them learn the new map faster.

Vanguard Maps Appearing In Warzone's Caldera Makes Sense

Adding current CoD: Vanguard multiplayer maps to Caldera makes sense, and there are already some obvious choices to be included. Warzone's Caldera is set on a Pacific island, so maps based in Europe and Russia like Dome, Red Star, and Demyansk are unlikely to appear. Large and wide-open maps that are set in sunnier locations such as Desert Seige and Oasis would more easily fit into Caldera's setting without needing much change. Caldera also features areas called Docks and Sub Pens, so it would not be surprising if the maps Gavutu and Sub Pen make up most of those respective areas.

Fans already know one iconic map will feature after some of Caldera's map was accessed early through Shipment following its release. Some of the other smaller maps will likely feature as well, as because of their size they can be fitted into areas without much issue. Das Haus would be an obvious choice, but the inside parts of Hotel Royale and Eagle's Nest could also add interesting POIs to Warzone's new map as well.

The new Caldera map is going to make a lot of changes to Warzone when it becomes integrated with Vanguard on Wednesday, December 8. However, Caldera will have to evolve over time so players don't become bored as many did with Verdansk. To do this, adding new Call of Duty: Vanguard maps and areas from older games is a good way to keep it feeling fresh. The new RICOCHET anti-cheat is coming to CoD too, which should put a stop to the large cheater problem that has driven many players away. All of this means that Call of Duty: Warzone's pacific update is set to be the game's biggest since it launched.
