Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War will be released on November 13th. The game's release is also anticipated to bring new content to Call of Duty: Warzone, the free battle royale game from Infinity Ward that was released in March. In fact, there's a new map expected to come to Warzone that will feature heavy Black Ops: Cold War themes. The new Warzone map is rumored to be set in the Ural Mountains of central Russia, and it's said to be similar to the one used in the Black Ops: Cold War beta release.

Black Ops: Cold War will be released in just a few days, but that doesn't mean Warzone is going to get immediate changes. The game is expected to stay the same until Black Ops: Cold War has its first season, which is targeted for December 10. There's going to be new guns and attachments, new operator packs and a new levelling system, but players will have to get comfortable using the new stuff in Black Ops: Cold War before going into Warzone. The new map, however, is not a part of the content that is expected in December. Until then, Warzone will still be played on the Verdansk map that has been available.

Since Warzone's current map won't disappear after Black Ops: Cold War's release, it's fair to wonder if any other Modern Warfare content will disappear. Activision has made an announcement that Modern Warfare's guns, skins and custom loadouts will be available in Warzone even after the new Black Ops: Cold War content arrives. This means players will be able to choose between loadouts based on Modern Warfare or Black Ops: Cold War, although it will not be possible to mix and match individual perks and guns.

Black Ops: Cold War's first season begins on December 10. On that date, all Modern Warfare and Warzone player ranks will reset, and be replaced with a levelling system that combines all three games. From then on, a Battle Pass will be the main avenue of progression in all three games. Accounts will be set back to level one, but they will still have access to content that had been previously unlocked, like old guns and operator skins.

There will be a new map coming to Warzone, but insiders aren't expecting it for a while. In fact, some sources say it won't be ready until March, when Warzone was originally released. Signs point to Infinity Ward trying to squeeze a second game into Call of Duty's yearly release cycle. COD is known for their one-game-per-year cycle, but could be trying to expand it with a content release for Warzone. This could explain why the new map would be pushed to a March release.

Overall, the initial release for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War won't mean much for Call of Duty: Warzone. Nothing will change until Black Ops Cold War's first season, and even then the new map won't be ready. The new map is expected to hit in March, along with a bunch of other Warzone content. For now, Verdansk is the home of Warzone.
