Despite coming out as a trans woman four years ago, Caitlyn Jenner's children, including Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars Kendall and Kylie Jenner, continue to call her "dad." In a recent episode of the UK's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, Caitlyn reveals why her kids haven't kicked the traditionally male title.

Olympic gold-medal winning decathlete Bruce Jenner shocked reality TV fans and athletes alike four years ago when he revealed himself as a trans woman and took on the new identity Caitlyn Jenner. Jenner is best known in the reality television world as ex-husband of Kris Jenner and star of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Bruce married 'momager' Kris in 1991 and the two were divorced in 2014 due to "irreconcilable differences." Only a year later, Caitlyn announced her new identity to the world.

Considered one of the most famous trans women on the planet, fans have still been a little curious why Jenner's six children continue to call her "dad." In a video (seen below) from ET, Jenner is seen explaining to I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! cast members that she still feels like a father to her kids. "Primarily Bruce raised them, and Caitlyn is enjoying her life with them," says 70-year-old Jenner. She goes on to explain that daughter Kendall Jenner asked her once why they still call her dad, to which she replied, "I'm your dad and I'll always be your dad 'till the day I die."

Jenner's trans announcement was praised by the LGTBQ community, and in October 2015, Glamour Magazine named her one of their 25 Glamour Women of the Year - but her transition hasn't always been so smooth with her family. The Kardashian women were very supportive of Caitlyn until her unflattering portrayal of ex-wife Kris in her 2017 memoir The Secrets of My Life. Since then, her relationships with stepdaughters Khloe, Kim, and Kourtney Kardashian have taken a beating. The Kardashian ladies called Caitlyn out on Caitlyn's reality show I Am Cait for not being sensitive to the family she left behind and how they were coping with all of the changes.

It appears that now there is a friendly camaraderie between the Kardashians and Jenner, who has been spotted on red carpets with her former stepdaughters and ex-wife multiple times since the transition, and Caitlyn remains close with her daughters Kylie and Kendall. In October, Kylie threw Caitlyn a 70th birthday dinner at Nobu restaurant in Malibu with both Kim and Kourtney Kardashian in attendance. Caitlyn's birthday wish was "that [they] all could get together more often."

While Jenner still feels like a dad to her six children, she's also a grandparent or step-grandparent to soon-to-be 20 grandkids, and she continues to prefer non-traditional titles for herself with them. Jenner revealed that her grandkids call her "boom-boom" because it was easy for the kids to say and just seemed to stick.
