Caitlyn Jenner compared the Kardashian/Jenner family to the Royal Family. While on the reality show I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here, Jenner said her brood was "the Royal Family of Entertainment."

In 2015, Cosmopolitan magazine came under fire for labeling the Kardashians "the First Family." Some readers felt that the comment was disrespectful to the Obamas, who were at the time, the First Family of the United States. So Jenner's comparison could be misrepresented as hubris. However, with Kris holding court as the Queen mum, Kylie's reputation as the youngest self-made billionaire, Kendall working as a top supermodel, Kim making impressive inroads in politics with her platform in prison reform, and Khloe, Rob, and Kourtney holding down their respective entrepreneurial pursuits, few can dispute that the Kardashian/Jenners aren't American royalty. Even Caitlyn has impressed for decades as an Olympic gold medalist. Few families can boast this much wealth and this many accomplishments. While working on I'm a Celebrity, Jenner was pontificating her own fame, as well as that of her relatives across the pond.

"Do you think the Queen watches this show?" Jenner asked her fellow contestants on the show (via Us Weekly). "This is a big show in U.K. I wonder if the royal family is watching - what if the Queen watches? She added, "Because in some way, I’m part of the royal family of entertainment. One royal family meets the other royal family, you know."

Coincidentally, Jenner's comments about the Royal Family acted as a perfect bookend to Kim Kardashian's recent statements about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. She empathized with the growing pains that being married in the spotlight can cause, as well as their need for privacy. She also seemed to understand Meghan's kinship with the late Princess Diana. Having lost her father as a young woman, Kardashian can surely relate to the hole that can leave behind. Caitlyn stepping in as a parental figure deeply parallels Camilla Parker Bowles' presence in William and Harry's lives.

Sure, there are some haters who might object to anyone comparing themselves to the Royals. However, the Royal Family is wealthy, powerful, attractive, iconic, and highly sought after by businesses, charities, and the like. Few could argue that the same can't be said about Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kylie, Rob, Kendall, Kris, and Caitlyn. More than likely, it's the accessibility of the family, on platforms like social media and television, that make them feel like everyday people. Therefore, hearing anyone call them royalty might seem a bit off-putting at first. However, the Kardashians and Jenners are in a league all their own. Caitlyn Jenner has really come out of her shell while in the jungle shooting her latest reality TV project. She's giving Kardashian and Jenner fans juicy soundbites and wonderful insight into the inner workings of the family.
