An upcoming Hot Toys figure inspired by The Book of Boba Fett gives fans a detailed new look at the bounty hunter Cad Bane. Beginning with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s The Mandalorian, Disney+’s live-action Star Wars shows have done an admirable job of advancing the canon and incorporating characters from Filoni’s animated shows like The Clone Wars and Rebels. The Mandalorian saw the live-action debut of Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), as well as the resurrection of Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett, who got his own spin-off series in The Book of Boba Fett.

The Book of Boba Fett follows its titular character after the events of Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian season 2 as he attempts to seize control of the late Jabba the Hutt’s territories on Tatooine and rid it of spice. The Filoni-directed “Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger” serves as the vehicle for Boba’s old mentor and nemesis Bane to jump from animation to live-action. Part of the episode focuses on Freetown Marshal Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) and his trouble with the Pyke Syndicate’s spice runners. After a visit from Din Djarin, who asks Vanth to help Boba with the Syndicate, Bane (Corey Burton and Dorian Kingi) shows up to shoot Vanth, setting up the show’s divisive finale. Now that he’s made his live-action debut, Bane is getting new merchandise.

Cad Bane Hot Toys Figure Gives New Look At Underused Boba Fett Villain

Before The Book of Boba Fett, Bane made a name for himself in The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch. The character was inspired by Angel Eyes in The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly and Colonel Mortimer in For a Few Dollars More. The Book of Boba Fett honored Bane’s inspiration as he gunned down Freetown’s sheriff and deputy in a scene reminiscent of classic westerns. While the showdown between student and mentor in The Book of Boba Fett finale was inevitable, many were surprised at how easily Boba bested Bane.

Some viewers undoubtedly hope that someone threw Bane in a bacta tank after the credits rolled on The Book of Boba Fett. Bane is arguably one of the best things to come out of the series and he was criminally underused. Hopefully, audiences will get to see more of Boba and Bane on the small screen. If not, at least fans can put the latter on their mantel thanks to Hot Toys.
