Chris Evans has taken to Twitter to share his reaction to the brand new trailer for Lightyear, Disney's upcoming Toy Story origin movie. Lightyear was first announced back in 2020 and tells the fictional story of the hero who inspired the creation of Buzz Lightyear. The lovable space ranger was voiced by Tim Allen in all four of the Toy Story movies and Buzz has become somewhat of a classic Disney icon, due to the popularity of the beloved Pixar franchise. With the announcement of this new story, Disney also shared that Captain America himself, Chris Evans, would be voicing the lead character.

Now, a newly released trailer for Lightyear has given audiences an exciting glimpse of what's to come when the film releases next June. The teaser shows Buzz as he is launched into space, while David Bowie's "Starman" plays over the top. Various clips from the film are shown throughout the trailer, however, in true Disney fashion, it never reveals too much. It also appears as though Pixar decided to keep Buzz's voice under wraps until closer to the release, as the trailer simply gives fans just one word of dialogue from Evans, which happens to be during a sweet callback to Buzz's iconic catchphrase "To Infinity and Beyond".

Now, Evans has shared his reaction to this exciting new look at Lightyear. Immediately taking to Twitter following the trailer drop, the actor shared the teaser and revealed that he was "covered in goosebumps" before expressing his gratitude for being involved with the project. The tweet quickly gained a lot of attention as fans were excited to see the star's reaction to his upcoming movie, with many sharing their excitement for the film also. Check out Evan's full tweet below.

Evans continued to share his gratitude for the film, tweeting his thanks to the film's director Angus MacLane and Pixar in a follow-up tweet. The movie's initial announcement was met with some considerable pushback from fans, who were concerned that the film was rebooting the character of Buzz Lightyear and replacing Allen completely. As a result, Evans previously took to Twitter to confirm that this was not the case and that Pixar had created an entirely new story for the origin of the character, and so it's certainly likely that the release of this trailer will settle any remaining doubts.

Lightyear is set to be Evans' first major voice acting role so it will be interesting to see what the actor brings to the character. His gratitude and enthusiasm for the project are certainly heartwarming to see and it appears to mean a lot to the star. In his follow-up tweet, Evans mentions that animated films played a huge part in his childhood, as well as his journey into acting, so this is likely to be a real full-circle moment for the star. While the trailer revealed very little of what audiences can expect from Evans within the film, it's likely more details will be teased as the release of Lightyear draws closer.
