Mauricio Umansky is starring in Buying Beverly Hills on Netflix, but the new real estate reality series showcasing The Agency could stir the pot further with Kathy Hilton. Most audiences know Mauricio as Kyle Richards' very handsome and goofy husband on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Over the years, Mauricio's success as a real estate mogul has frequently taken center stage on the show. Kathy and her husband, Rick Hilton, presumably haven't been thrilled as Mauricio originally worked with the Hiltons.

With Kyle and Kathy's Aspen drama heating up on the RHOBH, the timing of Buying Beverly Hill's debut could scratch some old sores. Queens of Bravo on Twitter shared a trailer of the new series late last week. It's hard to believe that almost a decade ago, Mauricio discussed creating The Agency with Kyle on RHOBH. His only concern was how it would affect their family, as Mauricio had previously worked in real estate with the Hiltons. Amid the tension, Kyle and Mauricio's relationship was their foundation. According to The Daily Dish, Kyle, who is likely still feuding with Kathy, shared on RHOBH, "My husband for years worked for my brother-in-law. Then he went off on his own like people do." She added, "That doesn't always work well in the family dynamic, and it can complicate things." In his interviews, Mauricio's said that years after leaving Hilton & Hyland, the families were now in a good place.

Kathy Hilton Was Mad About Shows Regarding Her Family Before

Kathy Hilton and Kyle Richards on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

The Agency was the first straw, and American Woman was the second. Kyle's pitch for a scripted show around her mother's life in the 70s infuriated Kathy. She didn't want her mother's memory tampered with and never watched the show. Kathy only reconciled with Kyle after it was canceled. 2020 to 2021 was a time of peace in the Umansky, Richards, and Hilton households, but that may be coming to an end between Kathy's RHOBH Aspen meltdown and Buying Beverly Hills. With Buying Beverly Hills coming to Netflix, Kathy and Rick may be less than thrilled with yet another show highlighting their family's personal and professional lives.

At the same time, Buying Beverly Hills is not highlighting the Hilton family but Mauricio, his step-daughter Farrah Aldjufrie, his daughter Alexia Umansky, and a cast of fresh-faced agents in Los Angeles. The show's trailer promises glamour, relationship drama, family secrets, and professional upheaval. With so much competition in the unscripted reality series department, there are no guarantees that Buying Beverly Hills will grow as successful as The Agency. If the show does well, Kathy likely won't take much interest in the series.

Lisa Rinna wrapped RHOBH season 12 by insinuating that Kathy is jealous of Kyle and her family's success. Who's to say if a sense of betrayal, jealousy or just some sisterly competition is at the root of Kathy and Kyle's tension? What is clear is that Kyle is deeply in need of Kathy's love and approval, and while Kathy keeps a steely exterior, she likely wants the same. Paris In Love hinted at the soft underbelly of Kathy, which she will hopefully bring more of to RHOBH. After so many years of mutual success, hopefully, Kathy and Rick will celebrate Buying Beverly Hills, but only time will tell.
