Following on from the latest set of rumors surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6, speculation has once again mounted on another of Rockstar Games’ (potential) future titles: Bully 2. Rockstar Games first released Bully back in 2006, but despite no official news ever coming out about a sequel, some fans have long been hoping that the developers will add another instalment to the series.

In the 15 years since Bully’s original release, there have been several rumors of a sequel, including earlier this year when eagle-eyed players clocked that Rockstar Games had updated its Bully trademark three times in April 2021. Unfortunately for fans though, there has never been any official information released about Bully 2. But, while all of the Bully speculation has been continuing on as a slow burner in the background for over a decade now, rumors and leaks surrounding another of Rockstar Games' IPs have been reaching scorching levels. Grand Theft Auto 6 has been one of the most anticipated games on many players' wishlists for what feels like forever now. However, much like with Bully 2, the developers have remained incredibly silent on any progress being made on GTA 5’s successor.

The most recent rumors surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6 suggested that it will not be coming out until 2025. Industry insider Tom Henderson released a video in June stating that they had come into some new information surrounding GTA 6, and that they believe that the game's launch has been pushed back to allow for better employee welfare (which, if it is the case, this is a commendable move from Rockstar). But, while this news is disappointing for those who were expecting GTA 6 to be releasing within the next couple of years, it has sparked fresh hope in those fans of Bully. So much so that, according to Dexerto, Bully 2 began trending on Twitter, leading many to assume that a sequel had actually been announced. But while Bully 2 has, lamentably, not been revealed by Rockstar Games, this recent Twitter trend has renewed speculation that a sequel is once more in development.

It is worth noting, however, that in 2019 it was reported that development on Bully’s sequel had been scrapped. At this time, it was shared that a script had in fact been written for the game in 2008, but that the project never really gained any momentum, causing production to “fizzle out.” More recently, in 2020, it was alleged that development on Bully 2 had ceased due to Rockstar's ongoing work with GTA 6.

Therefore, as with all rumors, leaks, and fan speculation surrounding Bully 2 and Grand Theft Auto 6 (or any other game for that matter), everything should be taken with a pinch of salt until something is shared by the developers themselves. Rockstar Games is no doubt aware of what the fans have been saying, however, so there is every chance that it will take this renewed anticipation for Bully 2 on board. Although, what they choose to do with the information remains to be seen.
