Here's every upcoming horror project from writer/director Bryan Fuller. On TV, Fuller began his career working on shows like Star Trek: Voyager but co-creating cult hits such as Dead Like Me or Pushing Daisies. While he dipped his toes into horror with 2002's Carrie - a TV movie based on Stephen King's novel - it was Hannibal that became his magnum opus. The show framed itself around the relationship between troubled profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and his psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen), with the latter secretly being a cannibalistic serial killer. Fuller brought both a psychological intensity, arty aesthetic and even a sense of romance to the series.

Despite being adored by its "Fannibals," Hannibal was never a ratings hit and was canned after three seasons. Fuller has jumped around many projects in the years since, though he ended up departing from the likes of Star Trek: Discovery and American Gods. Fuller himself is an avowed horror fan, and on both the big and small screens, has several exciting upcoming projects. From reboots of classic horror tales to an original monster film reuniting him with one of his Hannibal leading men, there are plenty of Bryan Fuller horror movies and shows to look forward to.

Christine - Release TBA

In 2021, it was confirmed that Fuller was writing and directing a remake of Stephen King's killer car tale, Christine. The novel was previously adapted by John Carpenter in 1983, and tells the story of a shy teenager who becomes obsessed with a ’58 Plymouth Fury; he and the possessed car soon take revenge on his tormentors. Speaking with The Kingcast, Fuller revealed his take would be more faithful to King's novel while deviating from Carpenter's film. The Blumhouse-produced project will explore elements the 1983 Christine discarded, such as diving deeper into "the vampiric relationship between the car and Arnie" and restoring villain Roland LeBay's role.

Dust Bunny - Release TBA

Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter

Aside from Christine, Fuller is also planning to reteam with Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen for creature feature Dust Bunny. This follows an eight-year-old whose family is eaten by a monster that lives under her bed. She then teams with her neighbor to kill the beast. The film is pitched as a throwback to the family-friendly horror films of the '80s - seemingly confirming it's aiming for a PG-13 rating. Outside of Mikkelsen, no other casting has been announced, or a release date. That said, a Fuller-inspired take on monster films like Gremlins practically sells itself among genre devotees.

Crystal Lake - Release TBA

Jason Voorhees By Crystal Lake Camp Sign

The Friday The 13th movie franchise has been caught up in legal shackles for years, so it came as a shock when it was confirmed the property would finally be returning as a TV series titled Crystal Lake, and that A24 would be producing with Fuller showrunning. The show was initially billed as a prequel that would focus on Pamela Voorhees in the years before the events of the original Friday The 13th movie; it was also assumed that due to legal issues that adult Jason from the sequels couldn't appear. Fuller himself would later clear this up while speaking to Fangoria.

On the question of what the show can use from Friday The 13th, Fuller stated "We can use everything. We can go to Hell, we can go to space." While the film rights are still in limbo, Crystal Lake can feature every character - including Jason - or setting from prior outings. In the same way he reinvented Hannibal, Fuller will likely remix elements from the franchise to his own design, with the showrunner himself describing it as a "pre-remake-uel." Bryan Fuller also revealed it will have a bold look in a similiar vein to Hannibal, and Peacock is so excited about prequel show Crystal Lake that they committed to a full-season order.
