Ash vs Evil Dead was sadly canceled on a cliffhanger after three seasons, but here's the movie and TV roles star Bruce Campbell has done since. Campbell is a certified horror movie icon, having spent a large portion of his career operating within the genre, as well as the adjacent genres of fantasy and sci-fi. It's unlikely anyone, even Campbell himself, would hold him up as a Oscar-level thespian, but his charisma, comic timing, and knack for onscreen physicality always make him a joy to watch.

Campbell's signature role is definitely supermarket employee turned demon hunter Ashley "Ash" Williams in Sam Raimi's Evil Dead movies, and of course the follow-up Ash vs. Evil Dead TV series. Following Army of Darkness' 1993 release, fans clamored for Evil Dead 4 for decades, but instead they got Ash vs. Evil Dead. That actually ended up being a blessing in disguise, as the show was well-liked by both fans and critics, and gave devotees 15 more hours of Evil Dead, instead of a single 90-mnute film.

Unfortunately, due to - according to Campbell - low viewership caused by rampant piracy, Starz canceled Ash vs Evil Dead in 2018, leaving Ash's story unresolved. We may never get a proper ending for Ash, but at least Campbell's quirky career goes on.

What Bruce Campbell Has Done Since Ash vs. Evil Dead Ended

Bruce Campbell on Lodge 49

As pictured above, not long after Ash vs. Evil Dead wrapped up, Bruce Campbell embarked on a guest stint as Gary Green, aka The Captain, on AMC's odd comedy/drama Lodge 49. He actually got the role thanks to producer Paul Giamatti, who almost worked with Campbell on a sequel to Bubba Ho-Tep. 2019 brought a strange circumstance, as multiple leaks - continuing into 2020 - have suggested that Ash would become a DLC character for Mortal Kombat 11, with Campbell providing his voice. Yet, the character has never materialized in the game, despite all evidence pointing to him having been meant to be there.

Campbell has also had a very active career in voice acting, and that's continued as well, with the former Ash voicing King Edmund in all three seasons of Disney Channel's Tangled: The Series. Campbell also voices talking monster Chef on the Netflix adaptation of The Last Kids on Earth, one of the creatures who congregates at Joe's Pizza. In 2019, Campbell's natural charisma was harnessed as host for Travel Channel's revival of Ripley's Believe It or Not!, which is still waiting on a possible second season renewal. As for the near future, there is a large fan push for Campbell to appear in Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, possibly as Mr. Sinister, and Kevin Smith has confirmed he wrote a role for the actor in Mallrats 2.
