Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 episode 4 saw another Halloween heist commence - here's the surprise winner. Brooklyn Nine-Nine debuted on Fox in 2013 and focused on the dysfunctional officers of the titular precinct. The show started as something of a star vehicle for Andy Samberg but it quickly became more of an ensemble. The focus of the first season was Samberg's talented but childish Jake Peralta trying to gain the respect of stern new Captain Holt.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine features a talented cast of comic performers, including Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Lo Truglio and Terry Crews (The Expendables). The series has built a steady fanbase over the years, but almost came to a premature end when it was cancelled following season 5. Thankfully, NBC rescued it after an audience outcry and gave season 6 a greenlight. In addition to being a solid sitcom, Brooklyn Nine-Nine isn't afraid to get a little emotional from time to time when it focuses on the personal lives of its characters.

An annual tradition on Brooklyn Nine-Nine is the Halloween episode, which pits the team against one another in a daring heist. Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 episode 4 is "Halloween II," where Jake - the winner of the first season's heist - must steal Captain Holt's watch. If he wins, Holt must do all his paperwork but if the Captain wins, Jake must work overtime without pay for five weeks. Jake's plan starts out well with a hired pickpocket easily taking Holt's watch without him noticing, but things become complicated when the thief runs off with the watch instead. Jake and Boyle eventually find and pay him for the watch's location, only to be told it's in Jake's car - which is then towed.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 episode 4 then follows Jake and Boyle on a madcap dash to the impound lot, though Boyle gets lost along the way. Sadly for Jake, he also lost his badge so he can't get into the lot and is arrested when he tries to sneak in. That's when "Halloween II" pulls the rug out from Jake, revealing Holt has been planning his revenge for a year and everything that happened was down to him. The watch never actually left Holt's wrist and the entire precinct was in on his scheme - though Boyle was taken by Terry during the journey to the impound in case he spilled the beans to Jake.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 episode 4 "Halloween II" ends with Holt celebrating his victory at the bar, while Jake concedes and accepts he has five weeks of unpaid overtime ahead. In addition to being one of the most entertaining of the Halloween heist episodes, "Halloween II" also solidified the slowly evolving friendship between Jake and Holt - and that the latter is an "amazing police captain/genius."
