Being a keen foodie and unconditionally adoring Jake, it is clear that Charles must know Jake's awful eating habits inside out. That's why it isn't too surprising when Charles adds "breakfast" to Jake's checklist on a planned criminal capture and slipped a breakfast bar into his pocket.

Charles even get a breakfast bar that had chocolate and fudge in it because he knows how to "trick his best friend into eating fiber." Although the fudge on the breakfast bar somewhat botches Jake's cool entrance on the arrest, there's no denying that it shows how much Charles cares about his best friend's well-being.

Charles talks to Sergeant Peanut Butter the horse in Brooklyn Nine-Nine
