Bandai Namco shared more looks at Broly in Dragon Ball FighterZ, and the upcoming canonized version of the DLC fighter appears to be a perfect representation of the character's dual power and intimidation, capturing the Broly mythos in a way that will make fans pretty please. For those unfamiliar, Broly is one of the most popular minor characters in Dragon Ball history, and has undergone a few changes to his character to make him even more palatable to fans who felt his first iteration lacked a bit of the personality and appeal that other fighters have.
Broly was born around the same time as Goku and Vegeta, with a power level of 10,000 - numbers that were astronomically more than any infant should rightly have. Vegeta's father feared Broly's power and sent him to a planet called Vampa to spend his days, thinking he would be safe from him. Unfortunately, this only made Broly angry and resentful, and when his father Paragus found him on Vampa and they were then recruited by Frieza's army, he returned as more of a threat than he was when he left. The Dragon Ball Super canon Broly is new to Dragon Ball FighterZ as part of the FighterZ Pass 2, and given the popularity of the newest version of an iconic character, it only makes sense to provide frequent updates on how his design is coming along.
The new screenshots from the Bandai Namco Facebook page show off the canon Broly's moves in-game, and he differs enough from the Dragon Ball Z version of Broly to make him an exciting addition. Broly will start with regular armor and then his level three super will shatter his armor and power him up. Dragon Ball Super Broly is reportedly going to be a character that excels at Power, Reach, and Energy, though this will all come at the expense of having pretty abysmal speed, making him an interesting addition to the character pool but one that might struggle competitively. If nothing else, though, the Dragon Ball Super Broly in FighterZ looks as intimidating and powerful as he's supposed to be.
Dragon Ball Super Broly is the last DLC character for Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 2. Every other character for this season has been released so far, with Jiren, Videl, Kid Goku (Dragon Ball GT), Janemba, and Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta all preceding Broly in the launch schedule. There still isn't a specific release date for Dragon Ball Super Broly in Dragon Ball FighterZ, but fans are expecting a release later this month or in early November.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is one of the most exciting fighting games available today, thanks in large part to the SonicFox and Goichi rivalry that has spanned multiple Evo tournaments and everything in-between. Dragon Ball Super Broly is a major addition to the game and, luckily, isn't one that needs a big part of the meta to shine - the character himself speaks volumes, and will renew interest in the game while drawing more eyeballs soon.
