After Bridgerton season 2, Eloise's book story seems to be almost impossible. In Eloise's book, To Sir Philip, With Love, Eloise is 28 years old and still unmarried. She starts communicating with none other than Philip Crane through letters, after the death of the latter's previous spouse, Marina Thompson. Gradually, the couple falls in love with each other through their letters before even meeting each other in person and eventually get married. In the show, Eloise and Philip have yet to interact: while Philip is still married to Marina in Bridgerton season 2, Eloise forms a relationship with Theo Sharpe, a working-class boy who shares her passion for women's rights.

By introducing Theo in season 2, Bridgerton departed from its source material quite substantially, at least regarding Eloise's storyline, suggesting that it may not follow the original books. If anything, Theo proves that Eloise's plot can change in Bridgerton, especially if this means staying true to the character and her ambitions. Although both Daphne and Anthony have ended up with their book love interests, the same does not have to happen to Eloise. Given the direction of Eloise's story, marrying a stranger seems hard to imagine, especially when her love interest from Bridgerton season 2 could potentially lead to further development in her character arc.

How Bridgerton Can Change Eloise's Book Story

Evidently, Bridgerton has already changed Eloise's story, albeit only slightly since audiences have not seen Eloise as a protagonist yet. There is much that is yet to be determined for the future of Eloise's story in Bridgerton and some of it may depart from her book, To Sir Philip, With Love, even more. Further changes may include Eloise's involvement in politics in the future Bridgerton seasons. This was already suggested in Bridgerton season 2 as Eloise starts showing an interest in politics and the fight for women's rights as she gets to know Theo more during her investigation in trying to uncover Lady Whistledown's identity.

Similarly, the plot line of Bridgerton season 2 has also changed Eloise's involvement in season 3 and in his brother's romance with her now former best friend. In fact, a significant change from the book is that Eloise learns Lady Whistledown's true identity at the end of season 2. Interestingly, much of Eloise's plot in the past two seasons has been focused on uncovering this secret. Therefore, Eloise may play a bigger part in Bridgerton season 3 than audiences would have initially thought. It is likely that she will play a significant part in Bridgerton season 3 as other characters may find out and Whistledown may eventually reveal herself.

What Bridgerton Has Already Revealed About Season 3 Eloise

As audiences may very well know, in Bridgerton season 3, Eloise will have to face a new season in the marriage mart without her best friend, Penelope Featherington, after their fall-out at the end of season 2 when Eloise discovers the truth about Lady Whistledown's identity. Therefore, viewers can expect to see Eloise at loss without her best friend, just like she was when the two were fighting in previous episodes. Moreover, Bridgerton season 2 will focus on Colin and Penelope's romance and, as such, Eloise's reaction to the couple may play a big role this season.

Similarly, the official synopsis has revealed that Eloise may meet a new unlikely friend. While many may think that Kate Sharma is Penelope's perfect replacement in Eloise's story, given the clear affinity between the two women, there are other possible contenders for this role in Bridgerton season 3. For example, it is entirely possible that she forms an unlikely friendship with Cressida Cowper, who did offer her friendship to Eloise during season 3. Another option is Marina herself, as some viewers have suggested, thus facilitating a future relationship between Eloise and Philip if Bridgerton were to follow the books regarding Eloise's love story.
