The show Bridgerton is a campy, period drama series that no one can get enough of. Seeing as how it’s a romantic story based on novels set in the Regency era, it’s all about couples and their relationship issues. There are many different pairings on the show, and while things work out for some of them, they don’t for everyone.

The series only has one season so far, so the fate of many of the couples on this list is still to be determined. However, as of now, there are some really compatible couples as well as those that have no right to be together at all.

Daphne Bridgerton and Nigel Berbrooke

This was a horrible pairing, and fans knew right away that they weren’t right together at all. Nigel was gross, invasive, and rude from the start, and it was clear he wasn’t handsome or kind enough for Daphne.

Then, he further revealed his true colors when he tried to assault Daphne. Fans still can’t believe that Anthony ever tried to make Daphne marry Nigel when Anthony himself was so shallow about looks.

Portia and Lord Featherington

Compatibility can mean a lot of things, especially in the world of Bridgerton. On the one hand, you have to look at things like personality and chemistry, but on the other hand, things like money and position in society also factor in.

While Portia and Lord Featherington might have been a match based on the standards of society, they were horrible together. They didn’t love one another, and their personalities weren’t compatible at all.

Anthony Bridgerton and Siena Rosso

Bridgerton Anthony and Siena

Anthony Bridgerton shows his true colors as a romantic partner early on when he promises Siena that he will always look out for her only to abandon her entirely.

Given their varying social positions in the world, they aren’t super compatible on that level. But, they also aren’t compatible because Siena understands what she needs and wants while Anthony is very lost and confused.

Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton

In one way, Penelope and Colin are a good match as they have known each other for many years and get along quite well. They both enjoy each other’s company, and at first, it seems like they are both kind people.

However, while Penelope might come across as caring, the truth is that she caused a lot of drama and nearly ruined many people’s lives by being Lady Whistledown, so in many ways, she just seems like a big hypocrite now. She might be smart, but she has a mean side.

Colin Bridgerton and Marina Thomspon

The situation between Colin and Marina is a complicated one because it wasn’t right for her to lie to him, but she also had very few choices. However, if it wasn’t for the fact that she was purposefully manipulating him, these two could have been a good match personality-wise.

Colin was naive but very sweet and caring, and he would have made a great husband.

Benedict Bridgerton and Genevive Delacroix

The relationship between Benedict and Genevive wasn’t explored much in the first season of the series, but they will likely get more scenes in upcoming episodes.

Genevive is a self-made woman who has a lot to offer someone like Benedict who is looking for freedom. While they might have different stations in society, Benedict does have some ability to leave the pressures of his family behind.

Benedict Bridgerton and Henry Granville

While Benedict and Genevive might be the canon couple from the novels the Bridgerton series was based on, many fans are calling for Benedict and Henry to be together. There is undeniable chemistry between these two characters, and Henry Granville is so far the only queer character on the show.

There definitely needs to be more LGBTQ+ rep moving forward, and as the series has already deviated from the books in order to have a more racially diverse cast, there’s no reason it can’t do so for sexual orientation, too.

Violet and Anthony Bridgerton

The Bridgerton Family in Bridgerton Season 1 on Netflix

The parents of the Bridgerton family have a rather sad tale on the one hand because Anthony dies leaving Violet a widow. So, fans don’t actually get to see these two interact.

However, we learn by conversations that they were very close and in love. Daphne grew up seeing that her parents had a real love connection, and she wanted this in her own relationship, too. From what we hear, they seem to have been really compatible.

Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Bassett

While there’s no denying that these two both do some really toxic things to one another, they do have a lot of undeniable chemistry. The most annoying thing about them is that so many of their issues could have been easily fixed if they had just had honest conversations with one another.

However, personality-wise and chemistry-wise, they are the most compatible couple from the series.

Eloise Bridgerton and herself

Many fans would also like to see Eloise possibly have a relationship with another woman, but there’s also a good argument to be made for her not having a romantic relationship at all.

Eloise wants nothing more than to be independent and not be forced to be secondary to a man, and her tenacity to be her own woman is better than many of the actual couples on the show.
