The Bachelor season 27 contestant Brianna Thorbourne was off to a great start when she received America's First Impression Rose, but she admits to Zach Shallcross that she is struggling, in a new promo for the show. Brianna, a 24-year-old entrepreneur from Jersey City, New Jersey, went into The Bachelor premiere with an advantage because she had guaranteed safety after America voted for her. However, the rose ended up being more of a curse than a blessing when her fellow contestants felt that she should not talk to Zach on night one because she was already safe.

In a new Bachelor promo shared by People, The Bachelor's Brianna Thorbourne expressed to Zach that she was having a hard time with her Bachelor experience. The preview begins with a scene from a group date in which Brianna and some of the other women are discussing the group date rose. Brianna tells them that she thinks that it would be really special for her to get the rose because the other women know for sure that Zach sees a possible future with them, because he gave them roses at the first rose ceremony. However, Brianna's rose came from America. She admits, "I'm so happy that I was chosen by America, but it always kind of leaves this bit of doubt in my mind of whether or not what I feel for him is reciprocated."

Brianna Thorbourne Breaks Down On The Bachelor

In her Bachelor confessional, Brianna admits that she has "insecurity" and "nervousness." When she and Zach sit down for a one-on-one chat, Brianna tells him, "Honestly, like, it's been really, really hard." A concerned Zach replies, "Really?" Brianna opens up to him, saying, "We're moving into the mansion. I don't feel like I have any support system." She then breaks down into tears as she confesses, "And it was really hard to feel like I could be comfortable because...I'm so sorry." The promo concludes with this cliffhanger.

Brianna's America's First Impression Rose ended up being a source of great stress on The Bachelor night one. It put a target on her back from some of the more insecure women who did not feel that she deserved to speak to Zach when she was already safe. However, Brianna's rose did not come from Zach, but instead from a viewer vote. She had just as much of a right and need to speak to him as anyone else, though the women felt otherwise. This made her feel isolated and unsupported in the house, which is a terrible way to feel for a young woman being far from home in a stressful situation.

The Bachelor should never have an America's First Impression Rose vote again. It put too much unnecessary pressure on Brianna, and made her feel insecure after the first rose ceremony, when it should have had the opposite effect. Although The Bachelor contestant was safe at the first rose ceremony, Brianna was very much aware of the fact that Zach did not give her that rose, which made her wonder if he would have chosen her otherwise. Hopefully, Zach will ease her fears on episode 2, and Brianna will move forward with him. If not, she is clearly already a fan-favorite since The Bachelor viewers voted for her, so perhaps she could be the next star of The Bachelorette.
