A fan of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild recently found that Link can fly without his paraglider using a bomb-related glitch, which also causes Link's remote bombs to stick to his hand. While the Nintendo title is known for its detailed open world and smooth mechanics, it was revealed this past March that some of its glitches were left in Breath of the Wild on purpose.
With a game as vast and dense as Breath of the Wild, some glitches can be fairly minor while others have greater impact on its gameplay and mechanics. One of these recently discovered glitches, involving one of BOTW's dragons contorting its body awkwardly, falls into the former category. Larger, game-breaking issues are not uncommon, though - such as a handful discovered to enable players to beat Breath of the Wild in less than an hour.
Twitter user LegendofLinkk recently posted a video showcasing a strange yet entertaining glitch. It involves rapidly switching between a remote bomb and Link's bow. For whatever reason, jumping and equipping - and removing - the shield mid-air will result in both the bow and bomb sticking to Link's hands. LegendofLinkk then aims their bow before cancelling the gesture. While in this bugged state, running up to a ledge and attempting to climb will cause Link to fly. However, it's unclear if exiting the flying state will reset Link's hands as well. The process requires a series of relatively complex steps, similar to glitching BOTW's Master Sword into becoming Bomb Arrows.
This is not the only form of air travel players have discovered in Breath of the Wild. The paraglider is unlocked through normal gameplay, but one player recently found a new flying mechanism by using a glitch that swaps the BOTW paraglider for a Cucco bird. Players can also abuse the physics engine to launch tree trunks and similar objects off of cliffs, bringing Link along for the ride.
While the glitch itself causes some questions, even more questionable is how a player would even stumble across this bug when it requires such a complicated, extensive process. Above all, though, this bug is yet another example of just how expansive Breath of the Wild can be - and why its players continue to spend time discovering new features years after its release.
