Bryan Cranston has a perfectly hilarious reaction to Walter White's underwear from Breaking Bad selling for tens of thousands of dollars. Cranston portrayed the role of the high school chemistry teacher turned meth kingpin for five seasons of Breaking Bad and won four Emmy Awards for his stellar performance. During the Breaking Bad pilot episode's famous cold opening, Walter White careens a mobile meth lab RV in the New Mexico desert wearing nothing but a gas mask and his tighty-whitey underwear, an outdated undergarment that he clings to for the entirety of the series.

A pair of tighty-whitey underwear from Breaking Bad recently went up for auction and sold for $32,500. However, this particular pair was used as set decoration and never actually worn by Cranston. During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Cranson reacted to the underwear going up for auction at such an absurd price. The Breaking Bad actor pointed out the pair was never actually worn and joked, "the ones that are soiled go for much higher," which he immediately regretted saying. Read Cranston's full reaction or watch the video below:

Those were never worn. The ones that are soiled go for much higher... I wish I didn't say that... I mean, people are crazy! Who, in their right mind, is buying a pair of tighty-whitey underwear for 30 grand?

Why Breaking Bad Remains So Beloved

Bryan Cranston as Walter White in PopCorners' Breaking Bad commercial.

The pair of Breaking Bad underwear selling at auction for such an absurd price is a real testament to how fervent the show's audience remains. Fifteen years after the series ended, Breaking Bad has aged impeccably well and is widely considered one of, if not the greatest television drama of all time. Though Cranston thought he was finished with Walter White when Breaking Bad ended in 2013, he has reprised the role numerous times and to this day, is still talking about the character's iconic tighty-whitey underwear on talk shows.

Since Breaking Bad ended, Cranston has reprised the role of Walter White for Netflix's El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, the AMC spinoff show Better Call Saul, and most recently, a PopCorners Super Bowl commercial. Though there are seemingly no more appearances on the horizon, Cranston has repeatedly kept coming back for more. It seems like only a matter of time before Cranston suits back up in his tighty-whitey underwear and returns as Walter White once again.
