In the rather puzzling Ubisoft Forward pre-show, Ubisoft unveiled a brand-new Brawlhalla crossover starring none other than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Developer Blue Mammoth Games released the free-to-play 2D fighting title in 2014; several crossover character have entered the mix since then, including various WWE superstars, Hellboy, Shovel Knight, and Lara Croft.

As with most fighting games, Brawlhalla is teeming with gameplay options for players of all kinds. Users can hop online and participate in ranked 1v1 or 2v2 matches, for example, or try their hand in a four-player free-for-all mode. In total, the title supports up to eight-player co-op for local and online play. And cross-play across all platforms makes teaming up with others even simpler. The latest news about Brawlhalla suggests fans will want to jump back into the experience as soon as possible.

News of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover for Brawlhalla counted among one of the more exciting reveals featured in Ubisoft's pre-show. Better yet, the crossover in question goes live on June 16. That's right, all four of the Heroes in a Half-Shell  - Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Donatello - will become accessible in an epic Brawlhalla event in just a few days. The latest addition to the 2D fighter is also slated to introduce the Crew Battles game mode, a K.O. effect with Shredder and the Foot Clan, and new signature attacks involving Master Splinter and Casey Jones.

The event additionally brings TMNT-styled map art, as well as four avatars representing the Foot Clan, Krang, the Technodrome, and the Turtles. Even after the crossover comes to a close, players will still have the option to purchase and use the aforementioned items, according to a post on the Brawlhalla website.

This undoubtedly constitutes one of the 2D fighting title's more notable crossover events. It's come at the perfect time, too, given that the Turtles themselves are making a big comeback in games.

Earlier this year, developer Tribute Games and publisher DotEmu announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, a side-scrolling beat 'em up that takes inspiration from the brand's original 1987 animated TV series. Release date details presently remain under wraps, but fans can expect the title to hit consoles and PC in 2021.
