The second season of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills released in September of 2011 with Kyle Richards, Kim Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, Taylor Armstrong, Adrienne Maloof, and Camille Grammer as the leading ladies. In addition to their partners, friends of the series, Dana Wilkey and Brandi Glanville stood next to the ladies all season long.
As dramatic as season 1's "Dinner Party From Hell" was, season 2 of RHOBH became even messier. With allegations of abuse, a divorce and custody battle, and a wedding, this season was packed full of juicy emotional drama that should not be forgotten.
Pandora's Engagement Party
In more recent seasons of RHOBH, the women have so much going in their own lives that their families aren't shown as much as they were in the past. But in seasons 1 and 2 of RHOBH, their husbands and children were a large part of the series.
For Lisa Vanderpump, season 2 was huge for her because her daughter Pandora was finally getting married. Lisa hired famed event planner Kevin Lee and planned everything from the engagement party to the backyard wedding in a secret garden. The engagement party at friend Mohamed Hadid's house was one for the books. There were mermaids, camels, Kyle Richards was doing splits — it was a lot to take in.
The Downfall Of Taylor & Russell
Taylor Armstrong made it clear in season 1 that her marriage was not what she wanted it to be. She envied Kyle and Mauricio's marriage so much and wanted the same passion. Sadly, she and Russel didn't have it.
In season 2, Taylor told a few of the girls that she was in an abusive relationship and didn't know how to get out. To make matters worse, a story leaked to the press about her crumbling marriage. But who leaked the story? All arrows pointed to Lisa Vanderpump, but she denied the accusation adamantly. Funny enough, LVP was accused of similar things in more recent seasons of RHOBH.
Brandi Glanville Vs. Scheana Shay
In season 2, Brandi wasn't a full-time cast member but she was a part of major storylines — as per usual. She was new to the group and was introduced to everyone by Adrienne. And while it took some time, the women slowly got used to her.
At the opening of Lisa's newest restaurant, SUR, Brandi panicked when she saw the woman who had an affair with her husband, SUR's waitress, Scheana Shay. At this point in the series, Brandi is still very fragile from her divorce and the sight of Scheana set her off. Years later, Scheana would go on to be a star on LVP's spinoff, Vanderpump Rules.
Remember Ken?
It was shocking to everyone when Kim admitted to being in a relationship with a man for over a year. None of the girls knew about her romance, including her sister Kyle. Kim kept her mystery man a secret because she didn't think anyone would approve of him, and it's clear to see why.
Season 2 was a dark season for Kim and her addictions, and it appeared that Ken didn't help her. He was controlling and even accused of partaking in these vices with Kim. To make matters worse, as soon as Kim told Kyle she had a boyfriend, she also told her that she was moving in with him! Kyle was at a loss for words and began bawling.
"$25,000 Sunglasses?!"
Dana was a friend of the series for three seasons and she was gold. She was a big personality with a lot of money and wanted everyone to know it. As an event planner, she helped Taylor plan Kennedy's birthday party and even hosted an iconic game night at her house for the ladies. The night did not go as planned — and the women were not thrilled with the dessert-only menu — but there was one shining moment that fans can't stop talking about.
Adrienne invited all the women over for a barbeque and Dana strolled in wearing sunglasses. One person complimented her on them and she said they were $25,000... She later told person after person that she was wearing $25,000 sunglasses made of 14 karat gold and python.
Camille's Colorado Home
Every Real Housewives fan loves a good vacation episode. In "Blame It on the Altitude," Camille invited all the women to her home in Colorado before she had to sell it. Camille was having a rough season after admitted that she and her husband were getting a divorce after he had an affair with a woman he met on a plane. A girls' trip to Colorado was exactly what the women needed. It was in this episode that Taylor opened up to Camille about the reality of her horrific marriage.
Cedric
In the first season of RHOBH, fans met Lisa and Ken's friend and live-in guest, Cedric. Cedric relied on LVP for just about everything. She gave him a job, a place to sleep, food, and access to her cars... If it wasn't for LVP, where would Cedric be?
Sadly, by season 2 Cedric and Lisa were no more. It was hard to pinpoint what made the two have a falling out but according to Ken, “[Cedric] said, ‘I’m not asking for money, but I haven’t got any, and I’ve been offered to sell my story to magazines. I can say anything I want.'” Ken and Lisa felt betrayed by Cedric and kicked him out.
The Start Of SUR
Lisa Vanderpump is a successful restauranteur who has shown off her restaurants Villa Blanca and Pump on the show. But in season 2, she was working on her third West Hollywood baby, SUR. Viewers saw the ins and outs of creating SUR and how much time Lisa put into it. The opening night was shown in season 2, and the restaurant is now the focus of spinoff Vanderpump Rules.
Adrienne & The Sacramento Kings
If there's one thing fans learned about Adrienne in her short time on the show, it's that she's one wealthy woman. She practically owns Beverly Hills and Las Vegas.
Adrienne has mentioned in the past that her family was part of the ownership of the Sacramento Kings. She took this role very seriously and was at most of the Kings' games, even though she lived a plane ride away. Sadly, in the second season, Adrienne was torn on whether to sell or move the team. Cameras filmed her crying at the game and struggling with the decision because of how many people it affected.
Kim Skipped The Reunion
It was shocking for fans to watch the reunion without Kim Richards present. Kim was the subject of major storylines throughout season 2, and it was difficult to navigate the situations without her there. It turned out that Kim entered herself into a rehab facility for alcoholism, which is why she missed the reunion. Once she completed her treatment, she did a one-on-one sitdown with Andy to tell her side of the story.
