Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer are one of the best duos on The Real Housewives of New York. They've been friends since the '80s before they had gotten married and had kids, which was why their connection was so electric on-screen. Unlike other franchises, the women of New York are actual friends and spend time together when they're not filming. The bond between Ramonja runs deep.
Due to the Housewives' comfort together, they've had some incredible BFF moments on RHONY. It eventually came out that Sonja would be a part of the new spinoff but Ramona would no longer be onThe Real Housewives. Fans felt like it was the end of an era for these best friends, which is why binging older seasons to catch a glimpse of their bond is needed more now than ever.

They Survived The Boat Ride From Hell
The Real Housewives fans love seeing the women on vacation, living their best lives, but that all changed when the women traveled to Colombia in season 10. After a beautiful day on an island, the women were rushed to the boat when the Coast Guard sent out a warning to come back to shore because the tides were too strong.
A 15-foot wave came crashing down as the women bawled their eyes out and got seasick. To make matters worse, the anchor was drawn too soon and it caused the boat to smell like smoke. As petrified as everyone was, Ramona and Sonja never let go of each other and had one of the best friendships in the series.
Ramona & Sonja Questioned If They Were "White Trash"
In the season 5, the women headed to St. Bart’s for yet another vacation. However, none of the girls could get along with Aviva Drescher. She was terrified of flying and forced her husband Reid to tag along to make her feel more comfortable. Ramona and Sonja were annoyed that Aviva brought her husband, which caused a rift between the three women the entire trip.
One of the cringiest things a Housewife said was when Aviva called the Ramona and Sonja "white trash," but there was one problem: Ramona didn't know what white trash meant. The two women discussing the term in confusion was one of the best moments on RHONY because they tried hard to dissect the insult.
Whenever They Roomed Together On Vacations
Watching Ramona and Sonja room together could be some of the more memorable moments on The Real Housewives of New York. They acted like kids who couldn't wait to stay up all night and chit-chat about their friends.
They ordered room service, they get ready for the evening's activities, and they vent in bed after drama occurred. While the other Housewives hated when Ramona and Sonja would flip out about getting the best room in the house, or bunking together, it did make for a fun friendship routine.
They Supported Each Other's Brands
Ramona and Sonja were full of good ideas. As silly as they acted as a duo, they were smart businesswomen (Ramona more than Sonja). The longtime friends talked about their goals and made them a reality while on the show.
Fans have seen Ramona's skincare line and her pinot grigio label reach great heights during the series. Meanwhile, Sonja tried to create a toaster oven for years, but it never came to fruition. What did come to fruition for her was her fashion label. No matter what these women came up with, they were always in each other's corner. Ramona even sat in on a few of Sonja's business meetings to make sure she was taken care of.
Ramona's Birthday Party For Sonja
Ramona claimed to be a "girls-girl"; a woman who would do anything for her friends because that's just who she is. However, viewers didn't always see the giving side of Ramona. There were countless things that Ramona would never live down because of her selfish tendencies.
Nevertheless, she proved that she had a soft spot for her besties when she threw a dual surprise birthday party for Dorinda Medley and Sonja in season 11. It was shocking that Ramona had it in her to do something nice without taking all the attention.
Sonja’s Simple Prank On Ramona Had Fans Cackling
In one episode, the Housewives traveled to Update New York for a getaway. While Sonja was in the kitchen, Ramona requisition bottled water. Knowing they didn’t have bottled water left, Sonja filled the glass bottle up from the tap with the intention of telling her it was bottled.
But when Bethenny suggested Sonja tell Ramona it was “fresh mountain water,” Sonja took the idea and ran with it. She went upstairs and gave Ramona the water, saying it was pure mountain water, and Ramona couldn’t get over how fresh it was. Hilariously, she had no idea it was from the tap

Ramona Belittled Sonja
Season 13 was not the strongest season of RHONY’s. The women didn’t gel with each other and Leah and newcomer Eboni K. Williams stirred the pot the other OG Housewives. However, with fresh eyes came fresh viewpoints.
Eboni realized that Ramona and Luann de Lesseps bullied Sonja into getting what they wanted. They spoke down to her and their jokes weren’t funny to those watching it happen. Season 13 was one of the harder seasons to watch for Ramonja fans because Sonja realized she might have been better off without Ramona as a friend.
Their Joint Speech At A Charity Event
When the women of New York teamed up with a woman named Bridie for charity, they tried to raise funds and awareness for victims of abuse. It was a very important night and one that should have been taken seriously, but it was instead turned into a mockery because of Ramona, Sonja, and Dorinda.
Ramona started the speech on a bad note when she called Bridie "Birdie." Her mixup gave Sonja the giggles and she couldn't stop laughing throughout the important speech. Ramona saw Sonja laughing and cussed her out in the middle of it because she didn't know why she was laughing. Things got worse when Dorinda chimed in. It was one of the most uncomfortable and inappropriate scenes in RHONY history (but a scene RHONY viewers love to rewatch again and again).
Ramona's 63rd Birthday Party
Ramona was a woman on a mission when it came to her 63rd birthday party. She wanted it to be the party of the year and invited 50 of her "closest girlfriends." She made a huge deal about everyone coming to support her but what she failed to notice was how she was treating those around her.
Sonja was going through her own issues with Ramona but she (and the other Housewives) showed up to Ramona's birthday anyway. Sonja drank too much, danced on a mirror, and gave Ramona attitude the entire night. It was hard for fans to support Sonja since the women were awful to each other on what was supposed to be a happy occasion.
Ramona Told Sonja To Lose Weight
In season 12 of RHONY, Ramona wasn't her best self. With Leah McSweeney as the newcomer, she was acting out whenever she thought Leah was out of line. However, it wasn't just Leah whom Ramona was harsh with, it was her BFF Sonja too.
When the women went to a Russian bathhouse, Ramona hinted that Sonja had to lose 10 pounds. Sonja told the cameras, "When we were at the spa, in the locker room, Ramona tells me that I need to lose at least 10 pounds because I'm beautiful. I'm beautiful with weight on, b—h! I mean, really?" Ramona has since apologized for the remark but it deeply upset Sonja.
The Morgan Letters
RHONY fans know it's going to be a bumpy road when the women go to the Berkshires for the weekend because things always blow up out of proportion. In one episode, Dorinda took Sonja to an old home that was once owned by Sonja's ex-husband's (John Adams Morgan) relatives. Sonja was emotional throughout the tour and it carried throughout the evening.
While at dinner, Sonja yelled at Ramona (although her anger was directed towards Dorinda) about not touching "the Morgan letters." Those letters dated back to the 1800s and they were a part of her husband's family. The entire day was too emotional for Sonja, and Ramona caught the wind of it.
They Teamed Up And Play Dirty
As fun as it was seeing Ramona and Sonja room together for vacations and weekend getaways, they knew how to disrupt the group. In 2017, the women traveled to Vermont where Bethenny did a lottery to make rooms fair for the group. But did Ramonja follow the lottery rules?
Nope! They ignored the rules and tried taking Bethenny and Dorinda's rooms from them, even though Bethenny was the host of the trip and deserved the nicer room. Ramonja was so hell-bent on being together that they didn't realize how many people they upset along the way. And while the women won't be on the show anymore, they were one of the more entertaining Housewife duos.
