Katie Holmes faces off against a very creepy doll in the final trailer for Brahms: The Boy II. Released in 2016, The Boy starred The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan as a nanny taking a job babysitting a doll for a mysterious English couple only to discover the true horror literally lurking within the walls of the couple’s isolated manor house.

Despite being a modest hit with $64 million grossed against a reported budget of $10 million, The Boy did not necessarily present itself as a great candidate for a sequel. But now four years later the movie is indeed getting a follow-up, starring Holmes as a mother who moves into the manor house from the first movie with her family, and soon finds her son befriending the creepy doll who menaced Cohan in the original. Of course, as in the original movie, there’s more going on than meets the eye and the family soon finds itself coming face to face with horror. Directed by William Brent Bell (The Devil Inside), the movie also stars Ralph Ineson, Owain Yeoman, Christopher Convery, Anjali Jay and Oliver Rice.

With Brahms: The Boy II getting set to hit theaters soon, STX Entertainment has dropped the second and final trailer for the spooky doll horror sequel. See the creepy video in the space below:

The creepy doll genre of horror movies has of course become very popular in recent years, thanks in large part to the Annabelle movies, which are themselves spun off from the The Conjuring films. Last year the original creepy doll franchise, Child’s Play, also got back into the game with a reboot featuring an all-new high-tech Chucky and Aubrey Plaza along for the ride. Much like Plaza in Child’s Play, Holmes in The Boy II steps into the role of the mom trying to protect her kid from whatever evil has managed to infiltrate their lives in the guise of a seemingly innocent inanimate toy.

Indeed, Brahms: The Boy II doesn’t seem that eager to reinvent the wheel when it comes to the creepy doll horror genre. Just going by the trailer, the film looks like the exact kind of gothic fright fest fans have come to expect ever since the Annabelle films put creepy dolls front-and-center in the world of horror. Then again, the movie could always contain a few surprises that aren't teased in the trailer. It remains to be seen if this revisit of The Boy establishes a franchise along the lines of Annabelle, or if Brahms ends up going by the wayside as a potential on-going horror villain.
