With such an interesting back catalog of work already, fans of his can be left wondering which of the actor's movies are considered to be the best and, hopefully, this list of Bradley Cooper's 10 most highly-rated movies on review aggregate site Metacritic will help to answer that question.

The Place Beyond the Pines (68)

Bradley Cooper stars as a cop who gets abruptly thrust into a sprawling crime saga involving Ryan Gosling's amateur bank robber/motorcycle stuntman.

The movie is effectively split down the middle with Gosling's character leading the movie for the first half and Cooper's leading it for the second, making it an ambitious and quite highly-rated dramatic thriller with a number of interesting and experimentative quirks.

Avengers: Infinity War (68)

One of the most significant roles of Cooper's career so far has been his voice performance for the animated character of Rocket Raccoon in the Guardian of the Galaxy movies for Marvel Studios' colossal MCU series.

The third of the team-up Avengers movies, Infinity War sees Rocket paired with Chris Hemsworth's Thor, the two forming quite a unique dynamic that allows the audience to forget the star power behind the performances for a brief time.

American Sniper (72)

Cooper was nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars for his portrayal of real-life US military sniper Chris Kyle in this loose adaptation of Kyle's memoir from director Clint Eastwood.

The movie would be nominated for 6 other Oscars that year, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay but only took home Best Sound Editing.

The Hangover (73)

Cooper has starred in a number of hugely successful and popular comedy movies over his career so far but quite have the same level as infamy of The Hangover, which was as big a hit with critics as it was with audiences.

The high concept plot follows a small bachelor party as they awake in a wrecked Las Vegas hotel room with no memory of the previous evening and must retrace their steps to find the missing groom in time for the wedding.

10 Cloverfield Lane (76)

Cooper has only a very brief voice role in the movie but plays a very important character within the narrative nonetheless. His character, Ben, is the fiancé of Mary Elizabeth Winstead's main character and essentially instigates her journey throughout the movie.

An intense and claustrophobic thriller, 10 Cloverfield Lane is a spiritual sequel to the original found footage movie Cloverfield, as the more overtly sci-fi space movie The Cloverfield Paradox is a continuation of the eclectic title.

Guardians of the Galaxy (76)

Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy

Bradley Cooper and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy debuted in their own origin movie in 2014 and the risky venture proved to be one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's biggest hits ever.

Aside from focussing on a collection of relatively-unknown comic book characters, the role was unusual for Cooper, who was not yet known for voice acting, but it landed him one of the most unique parts in the ever-growing superhero movie craze.

Avengers: Endgame (78)

Bringing the MCU's 'Infinity Saga' to a momentous close with the biggest global box office haul seen so far, the fourth Avengers movie saw Rocket Raccoon really become a part of the Avengers in the wake of the events of the previous movie.

Following on pretty much directly from the climactic ending of Infinity WarEndgame brought a number of superhero arcs to a close while continuing plot threads for the Guardians of the Galaxy and leaving them in an interesting position for their third standalone movie.

Cooper's directorial debut was also handsomely nominated at the Oscars with nods for Best Picture, Best Actor (once again) for Cooper, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor amongst many others, winning for Best Original Song.

American Hustle (90)

The cast of American Hustle

The most highly-rated movie of Bradley Cooper's career so far, by Metacritic's calculations, is David O. Russell's crime comedy American Hustle, which stars Cooper as part of a complex ensemble of cops and crooks.

The reteaming of the star and director came directly off of their success with Silver Linings Playbook and was similarly recognized at that year's Oscars, with nominations for all of the acting categories again as well as Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay but won nothing.
