Following the release of The Boys season 3 teaser trailer, the Amazon series tweeted at Taika Waititi asking for the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer. Director Waititi’s signature irreverence famously reinvigorated Marvel Studios’ Thor franchise with Thor: Ragnarok in 2017. Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder is set to see the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) possibly pass his mantle to Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). It will also feature the return of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Lady Sif (Jamie Alexander), and introduce a new villain in Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale). Fans have yet to see a Thor: Love and Thunder trailer release, despite the MCU film's release date set for just over four months from now on July 8.

Based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's comic of the same name, The Boys follows Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid), Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), and the eponymous group as they struggle to expose the corrupt, abusive superheroes, aka "Supes," and the conglomerate that enables them, Vought International. The series’ satirical approach to the superhero genre and, in turn, popular culture and/or real-world issues, has made it one of Prime Video’s biggest draws since its debut. Last week, The Boys season 3 trailer released, giving a glimpse at its mayhem.

The Boys’ official Twitter account has now responded to Waititi reacting to the show’s latest trailer. After the director comments on the season 3 trailer post with an enthusiastic "Fokk yeeeeaaas," The Boys is now asking Waititi to return the favor. The post playfully asks Waititi where the Thor: Love and Thunder clip is, with a simple, "A trailer for a trailer?" Check it out below:

The Boys often mocks whatever is trending in popular culture on social media. For example, the series parodied each Batman franchise with a series of posters just as Warner Bros./DC Films’ latest iteration, The Batman, was released in theaters. More recently, The Boys started a Twitter feud with band Imagine Dragons before using their single in the season 3 trailer. Naturally, Waititi would be a fan of an outlandish show that masterfully balances dark humor, social commentary, and drama. Waititi does the same himself with films like What We Do in the ShadowsHunt for the Wilderpeople, and Jojo Rabbit, which won him an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Of course, the powers that be at Marvel Studios are responsible for deciding when to release the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer, and Waititi has yet to respond to The Boys. The studio’s current marketing focus is on Disney+’s Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and the long-awaited upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. As Thor: Love and Thunder releases in theaters on July 8,  it seems inevitable that the two MCU films’ promo campaigns will overlap. Unless Disney/Marvel Studios decides to delay the release of a trailer until after Multiverse of Madness, a Thor: Love and Thunder teaser will most likely arrive sooner rather than later. As for The Boys, season 3 starts streaming on June 3.
