The first teaser for The Boys season 3 reveals what happens after the season 2 cliffhanger, though perhaps not quite in the form fans expect. Amazon's adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's satirical comic book series flew to greater heights last fall with the arrival of season 2. Already a hit for the streamer after its inaugural run, The Boys proved to be more relevant than ever with its tackling of real life topics like white supremacy. Fans have been eagerly awaiting new updates about season 3 ever since the mind-blowing cliffhanger in October.

For those who need a refresher, The Boys season 2 ended with the reveal that Congresswoman Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) isn't quite as good-hearted as everyone believed. Instead, she has superpowers of her own, and she's been using them to blow up heads throughout the season. Making this reveal even more nerve-wracking is Hughie (Jack Quaid), who is last seen asking Neuman for a job. Elsewhere, Homelander (Antony Starr) is at an all-time low after losing girlfriend Stormfront (Aya Cash) and being beaten by the remaining women of the Seven, and the Boys have disbanded.

To help tide fans over, The Boys has released a rather creative teaser for season 3. On Wednesday, Vought International posted a video from Vought News Network, a Fox News-esque channel providing updates on the world of The Boys in the aftermath of season 2. The segment, titled "Seven on 7," sees newscaster Cameron Coleman explain what's going on with everything from Homelander to the Church of the Collective. Check it out below.

Separately, EW revealed additional information about this new venture, explaining there will be more segments from VNN in the lead up to The Boys season 3. These clips will help bridge the gap between seasons with fresh story details, and actor Matthew Edison (who plays Coleman) will appear in season 3. As of right now, The Boys doesn't have a return date, so it isn't quite clear how many VNN videos fans should expect. It has been confirmed a new one will arrive every month, though.

Based on this first "Seven on 7," a few story points for The Boys season 3 have already been revealed. For one thing, Homelander is laying low after his embarrassing defeat at the end of season 2. For another, the public is still blissfully unaware of Neuman's murderous tendencies, but they do know that Hughie is working with her. Coleman's response to Hughie's hiring - which is to say, his indignation - feels like the perfect reflection of stations like Fox News. That, as well as the OurSheet commercial (a parody of MyPillow), continues The Boys' track record of skewering current American events. It'll be quite interesting to see what comes next from VNN.
