The Boys mocks corporations for trying to cash in on Pride Month by sharing an "ad" for Brave Maeve Lasagna. Within its first two seasons, Amazon's The Boys has built a reputation for perfectly satirizing modern culture. The series itself imagines a world where superheroes are corporate-backed celebrities who, in many cases, have become corrupt. The Boys has tackled everything from superhero culture to white supremacy, and with season 3 on the way, it doesn't plan on slowing down any time soon. In fact, creator Eric Kripke said he has plans for a total of five seasons.

Through Seven member Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), The Boys has also found ways to poke fun at LGBTQIA representation in superhero movies and the media at large. Season 2 saw the bisexual hero reunite with her girlfriend Elena (Nicola Correia-Damude) just before Homelander (Antony Starr) outed her to the world. Corporate behemoth Vought soon tried to exploit Maeve's sexuality by marketing a line of "Brave Maeve" merchandise and including phony LGBTQIA rep in its movie Dawn of the Seven. Now that it's Pride Month, The Boys is once again taking shots at the real world.

Every June, corporations go all out to show their support of the LGBTQIA community by doing everything from creating "Pride" merchandise to turning their logos rainbow-colored. Of course, as many have pointed out, these efforts to appeal to the LGBTQIA community end as soon as June does. The Boys has opted to poke fun at this by having Vought International share an ad for "Brave Maeve Vegetarian Pride Lasagna," the same kind of phony products companies love to put out. Be sure to note the added reference to "Homelander Farms milk."

Even during its hiatus, The Boys has stayed up to date on current events. Memorial Day weekend was spent paying tribute to season 3 newcomer Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), Vought's original patriotic hero. With the upcoming season set to tackle American history and politics, it's clear The Boys won't be shying away from its social commentary. One can't say there isn't a lot of material to work with.

Though Queen Maeve got the upper hand over Homelander at the end of The Boys season 2, it's all but certain the sociopathic hero will be back and more fearsome than ever. Maeve will have some reason for concern. When it comes to her love life, things didn't end well between her and Elena, but McElligott has said she hopes the two will reunite once more in the future. Even if they don't, Vought will likely continue to make use of her sexuality, so that's something... right?
