Antony Starr hints that production on The Boys season 4 is drawing closer, sharing several pictures alongside his co-star Chace Crawford. Releasing in 2019 to major critical acclaim, The Boys centres on a group of vigilantes who fight to expose the hidden crimes and corruption of commercialized super-humans known as Supes. Chief among them is Homelander (Starr), the world’s strongest superhero and leader of The Seven. The Boys season 3 returned to screens in July, introducing a formidable new rival in the form of the world’s first superhero, Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). Also marking the return of Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, The Boys season 3 saw the leader of the titular team struggle to acclimate to a more legitimate method of punishing Supes under the supervision of congresswoman Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit). Following the massive success of season 3 on Prime Video, shortly after its premiere, Urban revealed that plans were in place to begin production on The Boys season 4 in August 2022.Related: The Boys Season 4 Cast Update Supports Worrying Ryan Villain TheoryTaking to social media to share some new photos, Starr seemingly confirmed that filming for The Boys season 4 is just around the corner. Though the majority of The Boys is based in New York City (the home of Vought Tower), filming on the show has been conducted in Toronto since season 1. While there has yet to be any official confirmation on the shooting schedule for The Boys season 4, it seems likely that production will begin imminently based on these images from Starr, the schedule of previous seasons, and the recent remarks made by Urban. While plot details remain under wraps, showrunner Eric Kripke indicated that the next season of The Boys would focus on a parental tug of war between Homelander and Butcher over the soul of their respective biological and spiritual son, Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), after the season 3 finale.

With audiences still lavishing praise on The Boys season 3, many will be delighted to know that production on season 4 will seemingly begin very soon. Though further updates are likely to be sporadic, the recent revelation that Crovetti has been promoted to a regular cast member suggests that Ryan will enjoy a much larger role in the show moving forward alongside Starr's Homelander. Still, in accordance with past seasons, new episodes of The Boys may not arrive on screens until late 2023 or early 2024.
