A new promo video for The Boys season 3 teases new government restrictions on what Supes can do, while also spoofing the modern wave of video streaming services like Disney+ and HBO Max. The brutal comic book adaptation has been Amazon’s biggest original series since the beginning of its first season, and excitement around season 3 has built steadily since the end of season 2. The Boys stars an ensemble cast including Antony Starr (Homelander), Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Jack Quaid (Hughie), Jessie T. Usher (A-Train), and Erin Moriarty (Starlight).

The public power of the Seven and other Vought Supes is at the center of The Boys, and that will unquestionably continue going into season 3. The season 2 finale featured some major shakeups in the show’s power structure, with Vought scrambling to cover itself from a number of potential scandals. Going into season 3, things remain at a tenuous equilibrium, but if what’s come before is any indication, that won’t last long.

In a new promotional video for The Boys season 3, that equilibrium already seems to be in jeopardy. The latest in the show’s online series of Vought News Network videos – which are clear parodies of Fox News programs like Tucker Carlson Tonight and Hannity – the Seven on 7 with Cameron Coleman episode includes hints at a season 3 crackdown on Supes abusing their power. There’s also an extended Disney+ spoof, another hilarious Supe music video, a random cameo by Seth Rogen, and more.

The Boys has done a great job releasing high-quality promo content in the interim between season 2 and season 3, which builds out the world of the show in interesting ways. The new video shows Congresswoman Victoria Neuman declaring a new government partnership with Vought to help bring Supes who cross the line to justice – a development that surely won’t go down well with Homelander and the others. With the current peace established after season 2 being fragile at best, more challenges to the Supes’ power might be all that’s needed to send them off the deep end.

Season 3 of The Boys will also feature some exciting additions from the comics, including old-school Supe Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and the notorious Herogasm storyline, which centers on a depraved superhero orgy. As of now, no official release date has been announced, but it’s likely coming in late 2021 or early 2022. The Boys fans still have a while to wait, but at least Amazon is providing some interim content to tide them over.
