Here's why The Boys should turn its "Seven on 7" parody news show into a proper storyline component for season 3. After a pair of hugely successful excursions on Amazon Prime, The Boys doesn't need cunning marketing strategies to get fans excited for season 3. Nevertheless, promo material from the upcoming season of superhero madness has hit another level, with Homelander educational posters, a Soldier Boy comic cover, and Brave Maeve's all-inclusive lasagna.

But all that has been eclipsed by the in-universe "Seven on 7" news segments presented by not-so-subtle Tucker Carlson parody, Cameron Coleman. Aired as part of the Vought News Network, the "Seven on 7" teasers serve as a canon bridge between The Boys seasons 2 & 3, revealing developments such as Homelander hiding from the public and "Dawn of the Seven" being delayed due to the Stormfront incident. The YouTube videos have also allowed The Boys to introduce new season 3 characters ahead of time, such as Supersonic, who's now confirmed as Starlight's ex-boyfriend, Drummer Boy. Aside from being incredibly informative, the "Seven on 7" skits are hilarious in their own right, continuing The Boys' trademark political satire and slotting neatly into Eric Kripke's ever-expanding universe.

So good are Cameron Coleman's appearances, in fact, his Fox News parody should be parachuted straight into The Boys season 3 proper. When The Boys began, Vought and its superheroes were publicly untouchable in terms of popularity, but season 2 marked a shift when Victoria Neuman and others began questioning the corporation's lies and cover-ups. Then the Compound-V scandal surfaced, and Stormfront was revealed as a Nazi, leaving Vought's PR team fending off a tsunami of bad press. Cameron Coleman and VNN could become Vought's way of combating the negativity in The Boys season 3 - reassuring the public that everything's great, and if any other outlets or politicians say otherwise, they're "fake news." Not only would this explain how Vought is still standing after such a huge hit to its reputation, "Seven on 7" could also continue the satire of the American right-wing that was prevalent throughout The Boys season 2.

"Seven on 7" might even advance The Boys' ongoing mystery surrounding Vought's true goal, as well as the big season 3 Victoria Neuman storyline. Whether it be Stan Edgar's military schmoozing or Victoria Neuman potentially working for Vought in secret, The Boys has repeatedly hinted that Edgar's true purpose is to take Vought into the White House. Having a dedicated news network expressly designed for pumping out pro-Vought propaganda would suit that purpose well, and continue the ongoing comparison between The Boys' commercial behemoth and the U.S. right-wing. Not to mention, it'll be hilarious to see Billy Butcher beat up an out of control supe in one episode, only for Coleman to spin the headline "Suspicious-Accented Brit Brutally Attacks Vought Favorite" the following week.

More than anything, "Seven on 7" is a hilarious expansion of The Boys' fictional world. Over the past 2 seasons, in-universe media such as the VCU, "Dawn of the Seven" and, er, whatever Lamplighter was watching with Hughie, have served to ground The Boys in a believable setting by using superheroes to parody real life. A Tucker Carlson-esque figure to fight Vought's corner on TV is the next logical extension of the franchise within a franchise.
