WARNING: Spoilers for The Boys Season 3

New behind-the-scenes photos for The Boys season 3 show how Termite's graphic scene with his lover was filmed. Following the events of season 2, Hughie is now working at the Federal Bureau of Supe Affairs working with Victoria Neuman, who herself is secretly a supe. Butcher, Frenchie, and Kimiko are still hunting down supes but are now under the government's control, much to Butcher's dismay. The season has already introduced several new supes, including Payback, a supe group led by Soldier Boy, Supersonic, and Termite.

The Boys season 3 episode 1, "The Payback," opens with the premiere of The Seven's new superhero movie featuring Charlize Theron as Stormfront. The focus then shifts to Frenchie and Kimiko, who are investigating a party thrown by a supe named Termite. The character's first appearance is already graphic as Termite is shown having sex with a doll inside a dollhouse before growing back to full size to follow his partner into the bedroom. After snorting cocaine, Termite shrinks down again and climbs inside his boyfriend's penis to stimulate him before they have sex. Unfortunately, Termite sneezes, which causes him to grow back to full size and literally rip his partner in half.

Now behind-the-scenes photos from Termite actor Brett Geddes show how the scene was pulled off. The images show Geddes and his stunt double covered in fake cocaine as they pose next to a giant phallic set piece. The two shocking set photos can be seen in the actor's Instagram post below:

While Termite's scene certainly opened the season with a bang, this is hardly the first time The Boys has shocked its audience. The series has featured plenty of gory deaths, such as when Hugie detonated the bomb inside Translucent's butt or when Popclaw accidentally killed her landlord by popping his head during oral sex. Love Sausage was also a standout character in season 2, a supe who could grow his penis into a giant tentacle. Given Termite's scene and season 3 set to adapt the Herogasm storyline from the comics, The Boys looks like it will only get more insane from here.

Showrunner Eric Kripke previously revealed that Termite's infamous scene was inspired by the Ant-Man and Thanos butt memes and that the penis was a practical effect over CGI; the penis set was 11 feet high and 20 feet long. While that reveal was already shocking enough for readers, seeing actual images of the set makes it real for audiences and shows the length the crew will go to surprise fans. It's going to be hard for The Boys to top the death of Termite's boyfriend, but the same thing has been said plenty of times for previous scenes in the Prime Video series.
