Warning! Contains major spoilers for The Boys season 3!

Amazon's The Boys superheroes are many and varied, satirizing well-known capes and cowls from almost every comic-book franchise – here's every Super in The Boys who's managed to survive. The Boys established multiple Supers in its first season and expanded its roster in season 2 and season 3. Based on the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys introduced a wider audience to its superhero satire content. The first season set up Vought's superhero business with Compound V and gave viewers a chance to meet the world's greatest superhero team, The Seven.

With The Boys season 2, Amazon Prime Video's wildly popular show further explored the world of Supers. The Seven added new team members, and the arrival of super terrorists (or supervillains) also increased the number of powered people running around this world. Furthermore, season 2 revealed that Vought was testing ways to effectively give Compound V to adults. They had a testing facility at the Sage Grove Center with other Supers monitoring the new creations. Then, in the third season, previously powerless characters like Hughie (Jack Quaid) and Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) got temporarily powered-up thanks to Vought's Compound V. It also introduced more established superheroes, some of which had been mentioned in previous seasons of The Boys but never seen on-screen.

Of course, the expanding world of Supers did come at a cost. Following the deaths of Translucent, Popclaw, and Mesmer in season 1, seasons 2 and 3 of The Boys killed off several more powered people. Season one's super terrorist Naqib was killed in the first episode, Shockwave died in a surprising courtroom massacre, and even Lamplighter (Shawn Ashmore) died by the end of season 2. In season 3, episodes like "Herogasm" killed off over a dozen supers, including both recent introductions like Blue Hawk (Nick Wechsler). Even heroes that could have been a major threat to series antagonist Homelander (Anthony Starr) like Stormfront (Aya Cash), haven't survived The Boys rollercoaster season 3. With significant deaths and multiple new additions every season, here's every Super in The Boys who is currently alive in the show and their powers explained.

Starlight/Annie January

Erin Moriarty as Starlight Annie in The Boys

Annie January, aka Starlight (Erin Moriarty), was a member of The Seven and also aligned with The Boys' cause. At the end of season 3 episode 6, "Herogasm," she quit The Seven, however, and her relationship with Hughie and Billy seems fractured. She announces to the world that she's leaving The Seven and disavowing her superhero identity, including the Starlight name. In season 1 of The Boys, Starlight/Annie was recruited to join The Seven after being a local Super in her hometown. She quickly learned that The Seven and Vought weren't as noble as their public personas and began fighting back. Her main power is the ability to draw power from electricity, which allows her to blast energy from her hands and glow. Starlight's powers are limited, as she must be relatively close to electricity to muster her thunder. If there is no electricity nearby, then she is left without her primary ability. The good news for Starlight is she also has the usual superpowers of increased strength and durability and is a decent fighter.

Homelander

The Boys Homelander Finale

Homelander (Antony Starr) is the most powerful of every super in The Boys. He's the leader of The Seven and utterly insane (although this isn't known to the public, who view him as the world's greatest hero). After being the unquestioned face of The Seven in season 1, The Boys season 2 saw his leadership challenged a bit by new arrivals and Vought's priorities. By season 3, the sociopathic Homelander's sanity has taken a steep decline. He has positioned himself as the head of Vought, and the realization that superheroic gifts don't count for much when running a multinational megacorporation is fracturing his self-perception as a godlike infallible being. His powers include having increased strength, durability, hearing, laser eyes, and X-ray vision. He also possesses the ability to fly. Homelander's power is nearly unmatched, but he was almost subdued by a team-up between Soldier Boy, Billy, and Hughie in The Boys season 3, episode 6, "Herogasm," the latter two of whom were enhanced by Compound V. His one known physical weakness is not being able to see through zinc, and his constant need to feel loved provides him with considerable roadblocks.

Queen Maeve

Maggie Shaw, aka Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), was the unofficial second in command to Homelander in season 1, but season 2 saw her turn against him. This didn't lead to a fight between them, but Maeve could hold her own in such an encounter. Her abilities include superhuman strength, durability, agility, stamina, and reflexes. The Boys' version of Maeve cannot fly like her comic counterpart, and she's canonically bisexual in both media. Her current status is unknown, as in season 3 episode 5, "The Last Time To Look On This World Of Lies", she was kidnapped by Black Noir after challenging Homelander's authority. Queen Maeve's Wonder-Woman-inspired powerset is used to illustrate one of the key themes of The Boys' satirical reflection of society - that no matter how powerful a woman becomes, there will always be powerful men out to harm her.

The Deep

Chace Crawford as The Deep in The Boys

The Deep (Chace Crawford) is a member of The Seven. He'd been kicked out of the team in season 2 but was controversially reinstated by Homelander in The Boy's season 3. His powers include the ability to communicate with sea life. His connection to the creatures led him to rescue a dolphin in season 1, as well as command an entire fleet of sharks and a whale in season 2. The season 3 episode "Herogasm" also demonstrated that he has an emotional bond with sea life too, as he was caught getting intimate with an octopus. However, in a blackly comic touch, The Deep kills 7 sea creatures unwillingly in The Boys, causing himself genuine anguish. The Deep also has gills on his abdomen that allow him to breathe underwater. He attempted (unsuccessfully) to rehabilitate his career with the help of the Church of the Collective in season 2, but in the end, the only way The Deep could get himself reinstated was with Homelander's direct intervention.

A-Train

A.Train with his arms crossed

Reggie Franklin, aka A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), is once again a member of The Seven. Super-speed is his main superpower, and he became the fastest man on Earth. After season 1 saw him have a heart attack from extra doses of Compound V, A-Train still struggled with his speed in The Boys season 2. Despite an apparent death at the close of episode 6, "Herogasm," he received a heart transplant from none other than Blue Hawk, who paralyzed his brother.

Soldier Boy

soldier boy the boys season 3

Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) is an old Supe introduced in The Boys season 3. He is one of Vought's original superheroes who fought in World War II and went on to be a superhero/action movie star in the 1980s – and he's also Homelander's dad. However, his superhero team, Payback, betrayed him and delivered him to the Soviet Union, who subjected him to intense torture. He's freed by Hughie and Butcher, who agree to help out with his revenge mission on the condition that he also takes out Homelander. Soldier Boy is The Boys' shield-wielding parody of Captain America, a supersoldier with enhanced strength and speed. Whether his strength is on-par with Homelander is unclear, although it's a close fight when they meet. There's an additional power he has, however, over which he has little control. When Soldier Boy hears a specific Russian song on the radio he blacks out, suffering intense flashbacks to his suffering at the hands of the Soviets. While his mind is elsewhere, his body lets off a powerful explosion with the force of a small nuclear bomb. Soldier Boy is unharmed, but anyone and anything around him is vaporized - including many of the superpowered participants at Herogasm.

Victoria Neuman

The Boys Season 2 Finale Victoria Neuman Revealed As Supe

Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) is a Congresswoman with superpowers. The reveal of Neuman's abilities was saved for The Boys season 2 finale when the show confirmed she was behind all the exploding heads. She killed CIA director Susan Raynor, several people at the Congressional hearing, and the Church of the Collective's leader Allistair by using her powers. It isn't known how or when she got these abilities. Neuman is one of the most mysterious characters in The Boys, and beyond the mass murder at the end of season 2, she's yet to demonstrate the full extent of her abilities. However, it's been established that she also possesses superhuman strength and durability. In season 3 she returns and demonstrates that other supers aren't safe from her power, by way of giving Starlight a nosebleed.

Zoe Neuman

Zoe Neuman (Olivia Morandin) is the daughter of Victoria Neuman. She wasn't born with powers, but in season 3, Victoria injects her daughter with Compound V. This was a difficult decision for both, but Victoria deemed it necessary, as Zoe may be targeted by those seeking revenge against the Neuman matriarchs. Zoe's powers haven't yet been revealed, but considering how deadly Victoria Neuman's are, there's every chance Zoe could become incredibly dangerous now Compound V has unlocked her superheroic potential.

The Female

Kimiko at a protest in The Boys

Kimiko aka The Female (Karen Fukuhara) is one of The Boys. She possessed super strength and the ability to heal, even after what could be fatal injuries. Several years ago, she received her powers from the Shining Light Liberation terrorist organization and was smuggled to the United States. Kimiko has since teamed up with The Boys to use her powers against Vought, and Kimiko was a hired assassin in season 2. After being blasted by Soldier Boy's explosive energy in season 3, Kimiko appears to have lost her abilities. She doesn't seem distressed by this, however. She also demonstrated in season 3's 6th episode that she's a more than capable fighter even without her abilities – and she's far happier.

Cindy

The Boys Vought and The Church of The Collective Are Working Together Cindy Escapes

Cindy (Ess Hödlmoser) is a new Super introduced in The Boys season 2, who is still alive heading into season 3. Cindy was one of the test subjects at the Sage Grove Center, where Vought's experiments gave her telekinetic powers. She used these powers to rip doors off her fellow test subjects' cells and blow up a security guard's body. Cindy is also bulletproof, and her increased durability allowed her to withstand an electricity blast from Stormfront. She was last seen hitchhiking away from Sage Grove and is confirmed to return at some point.

Love Sausage

Love Sausage (Andrew Jackson) has disgusting powers and is another test subject from Sage Grove. He has increased strength and durability, but his primary power is his "love sausage." In a change from the comics, The Boys' version of Love Sausage can grow his penis upwards of 20 feet, and control it as if it is a tentacle. He was knocked unconscious by Kimiko in season 2. In The Boys season 3, Love Sausage returned for episode 6, "Herogasm." He managed to survive Soldier Boy's assault and was last seen hobbling from the TNT Twin's destroyed home with his charred prehensile genitals cradled in his arms. The Boys is highly NSFW for a superhero property, and no character embodies this more than Love Sausage.

Black Noir

Black Noir in The Boys Season 2

Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) was barely alive by the end of The Boys season 2. The silent Super is one of The Seven's most skilled fighters. He has increased strength, durability, and agility, which have seen him withstand bomb blasts and overpower Starlight. However, Black Noir's known weakness is a nut allergy. Queen Maeve shoved an Almond Joy into his mouth in season 2, which resulted in him having barely any brain function left. He has made a recovery in The Boys season 3, working with Homelander to kidnap Queen Maeve. Her fate and what Black Noir did to her are still unknown. However, there might be friction between Homelander and his silent compatriot, as Black Noir has removed the tracking chip from his arm and disappeared. In the comics, Black Noir is a clone of Homelander, but The Boys TV series didn't adapt this plot twist. Black Noir was in Payback alongside Soldier Boy and appears to have gone off-grid to avoid his resurrected teammate's rampage in season 3.

Eagle the Archer

Eagle convinces The Deep to join the Church Of The Collective

Eagle the Archer (Langston Kerman) was a new Super introduced in The Boys season 2. He is a parody of Hawkeye and is known to have a perfect aim with a bow and arrow. Eagle the Archer never got to show off these powers during his time on The Boys, as he spent most of it recruiting The Deep to join the Church of the Collective. But, Eagle is no longer associated with the Church after refusing to follow their orders.

Ryan

Antony Starr as Homelander Cameron Crovetti as Ryan Butcher The Boys

Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) is the powerful son of Homelander and Becca Butcher. His powers were teased at the end of season 1, but Ryan used them for the first time in season 2. Ryan is super durable and has laser vision, but he hasn't shown the ability to fly like his dad just yet. Ryan used his laser vision to stop Stormfront from killing his mom, but his lack of control also saw him accidentally cut Becca's throat. Despite the tragedy of the situation, Ryan's laser vision might be more potent than Homelander's. Season 3 introduced some new powers for Ryan, including enhanced senses. He was able to smell the Compound V in Billy's system, although he didn't understand why Butcher "smelled funny." Ryan's hearing is also superhumanly acute, which can lead to sensory overstimulation.

Gecko

Starlight blackmailing Gecko on The Boys

Matthew Culbert, aka Gecko (David Thompson), is a former childhood friend of Starlight. They met at Capes for Christ Bible Camp. He began working for Vought as a lab rat due to his regenerative abilities, while also letting people pay to cut off any part of his body for extra money. Starlight blackmails him with this detail in season 2, so Gecko gives her some Compound V.

Ezekiel

Ezekiel (Shaun Benson) is a Christian public speaker with superpowers. His primary ability allows him to stretch any part of his body to incredible lengths. Ezekiel is secretly gay and helped Vought smuggle Compound V in the past. He wasn't in season 2 but is still believed to be alive at the time of The Boys season 3. His exact fate isn't known though.

Nubian Prince

Nubian Prince was briefly featured in The Boys season 1, as he was part of Vought's plan to get each major city its own Super. He was initially based out of Detroit, Michigan, but relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. His powers have not been explored in the show, and he is a new creation for the series. But, he appears to be a parody of Black Panther, which could give him increased strength, speed, agility, and durability.

Big Game

Big Game was confirmed to exist in The Boys during season 1. The leader of Teenage Kix has super strength and the ability to fly in the comics. He has yet to appear in the show but is believed to be alive after Billy Butcher asks Raynor for his file during the first season.

Shout Out

Shout Out was also directly referenced in The Boys season 1. Some fans were expecting an on-screen appearance, especially given The Boys stance on LGBT superheroes. He is a former member of Teenage Kix in the comics and possesses the powers of flight and electricity. Shout Out had to leave the group after revealing he was gay. In the show, Billy also asked Raynor for Shout Out's file during the first season, but he hasn't appeared.

Tek Knight

The Boys Tek Knight

Tek Knight is another Supe confirmed to exist in The Boys who is still alive. He was mentioned during season 1 when a woman revealed that Tek Knight broke her back. Tek Knight does not have any inherent superpowers but instead becomes a member of Payback after using his wealth to build an advanced suit, like Iron Man. Despite the wild stories he is part of in the comics, Tek Knight could make his debut in The Boys season 3. However the episode many fans expected to be Tek Knight's debut, "Herogasm," didn't feature his appearance. If Tek Knight is going to get screen time in The Boys it looks likely it won't be until season 4.

Hughie Campbell

Hughie The Boys Season 3 Episode 5

Hughie has teleportation powers in The Boys season 3, albeit on a temporary basis. He and Butcher start abusing Vought's Compound V, making themselves supers for a few hours as and when the fight needs to be more even. Hughie can teleport. There's a catch though: his clothes do not travel with him. Other people do, though, as was demonstrated in episode 6, "Herogasm," when Hughie accidentally blipped himself and Starlight into the middle of the street, leaving them both totally naked. Teleportation isn't Hughie's only power in The Boys he also appears to have gained a small strength and resilience increase when on Compound V, though not as much as Butcher (and nowhere near enough to stand up to the likes of Homelander or Soldier Boy alone). However, after pulling black gunk from his ear in "Herogasm," the temporary V is clearly taking its toll and has also driven Annie/Starlight away.

Billy Butcher

Karl Urban as Billy Butcher and Compound V in The Boys

Compound V gives Billy Butcher super strength and laser eyes in The Boys season 3. These powers aren't permanent, but they are strong enough for Billy to go beam-to-beam with Homelander and emerge unscathed (albeit with Soldier Boy and Hughie's help). Butcher's temporary powers have brought him closer to killing Homelander than ever before. Aside from Butcher lacking flight, the pair appeared almost evenly matched when trading physical blows. However, Butcher's rejection of his own philosophy and moral code doesn't sit well with some of his teammates, especially Mothers Milk. Unlike Hughie, Butcher hates the experience of being a Supe but is willing to continue powering up if it brings him closer to his goals.

Moonshadow

Moonshadow from The Boys

Moonshadow (Abigal Whitney) is introduced in The Boys season 3. In episode 3, "Barbary Coast," she's a superhero contestant in a televised competition to decide the next member of The Seven after Stormfront's departure called American Hero. Despite being among Starlight's picks, Moonshadow ultimately wasn't chosen, with the spot going instead to ex-cult member The Deep due to Homelander's interference. Her powers are relatively unique. She's a neurosensory hacker, able to manipulate the sense and brain responses of her targets. While Moonshadow didn't make it into The Seven, she is still alive and operating. As a female superhero whose career was glass-ceilinged because of toxic masculinity paragons Homelander and The Deep, it's possible Moonshadow could become an ally for Starlight/Annie January as The Boys continues.

Silver Kincaid

Silver Kincaid In The Boys

Appearing alongside Moonshadow in American Hero during The Boys' "Barbary Coast" episode, Muslim Supe Silver Kincaid was Starlight's clear winner, boasting the most impressive rescue statistics and a humanitarian track record that includes UNICEF ambassadorship. Despite having the best qualifications, Homelander brushed her aside, throwing out some Islamophobic slurs and reinstating The Deep over both her and Moonshadow. Hailing from Birmingham, UK, Silver Kincaid has telekinetic and telepathic abilities, but she never got to demonstrate her psychic prowess during her The Boys debut. Instead, she and Moonshadow stand as testaments to Homelander's accelerating bigotry and rampant egotism.

New episodes of The Boys season 3 hit Amazon Prime on Fridays.
