Chace Crawford jokes that he won't be able to find work again after the weirdness of The Boys season 3. Perhaps better known for his portrayal of Nate Archibald on The CW's teen drama series Gossip Girl, Crawford began playing the role of Kevin Moskowitz, a.k.a the Deep, in the Amazon Prime Video original series The Boys in 2019. As the show's own version of Aquaman, the Deep is often looked down upon by the other members of the Seven as the least valuable member of the superhero team.

Based on the comic book series of the same name written by Garth Ennis and illustrated by Darick Robertson, The Boys mainly follows its titular team of vigilantes, led by Billy Butcher, who combat the powerful and corrupt corporation Vought International and its team of superpowered individuals, referred to derogatorily as "Supes." Other than the Deep, the Seven includes Homelander, Starlight, Queen Maeve, A-Train, and Black Noir. The superhero team is also set to gain a new member in season 3, premiering on June 3, as Jensen Ackles makes his debut as Soldier Boy.

In preparation for the season 3 premiere, a few cast members sat down with EW to discuss the upcoming season of The Boys. Though he couldn't give away too much away, Crawford did reveal that things will get much weirder for his character this season. So weird, in fact, that Crawford worried he may never find work again after everyone sees the third season, a sentiment he expressed to his co-star Ackles in a text message. Read what the two shared below:

Ackles: I remember reading that stuff [in the script] and you sent me a text message. And I have to go find it, but I think it was something like, 'I don't know how I'm gonna be able to work after this.'

Crawford: I think I did send that.

The Deep istting down and posing in The Boys

Since the start of The Boys, the Deep has been one of the show's more problematic characters. Almost immediately upon Starlight's arrival at the Seven's headquarters, the Deep sexually harasses her and attempts to extort her for sexual favors. Later, Madelyn Stillwell demands the Deep apologize and sends him away for a sabbatical to avoid a PR crisis. Finding his transfer to Sandusky, Ohio, a bit dull, a depressed Deep joins the Church of the Collective and begins taking drugs that cause him to have hallucinatory conversations with his own gills (which are voiced by Patton Oswalt).

Based on Crawford's comments and looks at the upcoming season, things are about to get a lot weirder for the Deep. In season 1, he famously flirted with a dolphin, and the Boys season 3 trailer revealed another outlandish moment for the Deep in which he stares into the eyes of a cephalopod in a fish tank, continuing the character's unusual relationship with aquatic creatures. However, it probably won't be enough to prevent Crawford from ever working again, as he will be seen in the upcoming ensemble comedy, Reunion, and has another project, the crime-drama Riptide, in the works as well.
