The Vought News Network teaser videos were primarily to build anticipation for The Boys season 3, but they also offer a few insights into what to expect - and they hint that Vought may have turned on Homelander. Their one-time poster boy and leader of the Seven spent much of season 2 butting heads with Vought CEO Stan Edgar, as well as having his public image tarnished by the release of a video showing him killing a civilian. His discovery of a son hidden from him by Vought not only distracted him from his work as part of the Seven but also saw him beginning to challenge Vought and Edgar, and work with Stormfront in her attempts to start a superpowered race war.

However, the Vought News Network videos released in anticipation of The Boys season 3 make very little mention of Homelander. The first mentions that he is hiding inside of Vought Tower "sullen and secluded," and that he has yet to make any public appearances following Stormfront being outed as a Nazi. The video goes on to describe Homelander as "super on the outside, but just a man on the inside."

While this may appear to be an attempt to humanize Homelander after his public disgrace in The Boys season 2, the VNN videos make no further mention of the Super, hinting that he's no longer Vought's golden child. This would make sense, especially considering that Vought's public image has suffered, too, and banking on Homelander - an unstable Super with a disturbing history - to help fix their brand hardly seems like a wise move.

The Boys Vought News Network Stormfront Homelander

The cleverly worded segment regarding Homelander's public absence is interesting, particularly the comment about him being "just a man on the inside." This admittance that the Super is capable of wrongdoing indicates that Vought is no longer willing to defend him or conceal his mistakes, which is further evidenced in the Vought News Network clips by his conspicuous absence. A group of his fans is mentioned though, in a segment that conceals a subtle jab at the Super. The careful wording claims that Homelander's fans were hospitalized "trying to do their part." When considered alongside the earlier segment in which Vought announced that Homelander has been a "public no-show," it's clear that Vought is doing as little as possible to protect Homelander's image and instead is painting him as someone who isn't willing to do his part.

It isn't clear exactly what to expect from The Boys' season 3, but these VNN clips go a long way towards answering the burning questions. While Homelander's future with Vought was brought into question throughout season 2, the VNN clips certainly indicate that protecting the leader of the Seven is no longer a focus for the company - something which doesn't bode well for the unhinged Super or his future at the helm of The Boys' flagship Superteam.
