Warning: SPOILERS for The Boys Season 3 ahead.

A major twist from The Boys season 3, episode 7, regarding Homelander has fans falling apart. Everyone's favorite psychopathic Supe, Homelander, has become even scarier this season as he shows that his powers have yet to be fully unleashed. Not to mention he's growing increasingly unhinged as he throws tantrums against the media and humanity in general during his VNN news appearances, spiking his popularity amongst the white male demographic and becoming the poster boy for toxic masculinity, a side of his personality he'd previously tried to hide from the public.

In the season 3 episode "Here Comes a Candle to Light You to Bed," more shades of horrifying are added to the character as it's revealed he's been keeping Maeve in a Vought prison cell and plans to harvest her eggs to make his children with. Meanwhile, Hughie and Butcher are quickly getting poisoned by Compound V as they help Soldier Boy cross Mindstorm off his hit list, and Vought has turned on Starlight, spreading child-trafficking rumors about her orphanage after she made a social media post calling out the horrors that the company has covered up. The social media marketing for The Boys has been killing it this season, as Homelander even released a statement about Starlight online.

The episode also revealed a major twist: Soldier Boy is Homelander's biological father. The secret is revealed to Soldier Boy in the moments before he kills the psychic Mindstorm. Unbeknownst to Homelander, he was right, he's not the "cheap knock-off" but "the upgrade" of Soldier Boy, as Vought handed Soldier Boy over to the Russians in favor of someone better — Homelander, who was created from Soldier Boy's sperm. The twist has fans all over Twitter feeling like they've met the wrath of Victoria Neuman, because their minds are blown. Check out some of the reactions below:

After the explosive reactions to "Herogasm," it seemed unlikely The Boys could top the surprises that episode elicited. Taking the hashtag #TheBoysStrikeBack as an obvious nod to the "Vader is Luke's father" revelation in The Empire Strikes Back, reactions here almost seem on par with those of the supe orgy. While that episode was hyped up a good deal before it aired by the cast and showrunner Eric Kripke alike, it almost made the twist here more unexpected as it stealthily followed in the aftermath with zero fanfare.

As some Twitter users online have pointed out, this revelation could spell big trouble for Butcher and Hughie. Their alliance with Soldier Boy was already shaky at best, and now with Soldier Boy telling Homelander of their familial connection, it's all too likely Soldier Boy won't hold up his end of the bargain to Butcher, and will in fact team up with Homelander. The two together could prove to be a truly unstoppable front for The Boys, especially since Hughie and Butcher can't rely on V-24 as a permanent solution as it will kill them. For fans on the edge of their seats about what The Boys season 3 finale has in store for Homelander and Soldier Boy's shifting relationship, at least there's the consolation that season 4 will begin filming at the end of summer.
