The unedited footage of the Herogasm episode in The Boys season 3 would definitely be X-rated according to showrunner Eric Kripke. Season 3 of the Amazon hit series is still currently filming with no official premiere date as of yet. The Boys follows of group of vigilantes led by Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) actively trying to take down the most popular super heroes, or supes of the world, particularly the sadistic Homelander (Antony Starr), the leader of the Seven. The Boys season 2 was recently nominated for six Emmy awards, including one for best drama series. The satirical superhero series is based on the comic books of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

While any major plot details for The Boys season 3 have been kept tightly under wraps, Herogasm will definitely take place. The comic book storyline of the same name features the Boys going undercover at an annual retreat sponsored by Vought International that unites all of the supes of the world for one big not-very-heroic orgy. Kripke joked on Twitter back in January that he had been dared to make a Herogasm episode from the moment he started work on The Boys, confirming in the same post that a script featuring the storyline had been completed for season 3.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, Kripke seemingly confirmed that the Herogasm episode had been filmed. The Boys' showrunner has already been hyping up the upcoming craziness of the third season, but what he said about the footage for the Herogasm episode certainly takes the cake. Check out what Kripke had to say about the Herogasm episode footage below.

"I mean, those dailies are insane. Like, if we showed everything we saw in the dailies, we for sure would be rated X. I can’t even get my head around what we’ve filmed. We’ll make sure that we’re walking the right line and that we’re outrageous, but not exploitive, of course. So there probably will be a lot of self-censorship. But anyone who is a fan of the books and that particular volume of ‘Herogasm,’ I can just tell you, you’re definitely going to get the full ‘Herogasm’ experience. There’s just no question."

What's even more staggering about Kripke's statement is that he also recently said that the first episode of The Boys season 3 will feature the craziest thing the show's ever done, beyond even Herogasm. If there's one thing that The Boys does well, it's pushing boundaries in a way that still makes sense because most of the crazy and bloody moments still move the plot forward successfully. While the hype of Herogasm is building up for what will likely be mind-blowing episode, it will be interesting to see how it fits into the overall story arc for The Boys season 3.

The Boys has never hesitated to completely flip every standard superhero trope on its head. The third season is shaping up to be even crazier than seasons 1 and 2 combined. With new characters joining the cast, Homelander still being a narcissistic sociopath, and Herogasm on the horizon will the Boys ever find a successful way to truly stopping the Seven and corrupt supes of the world? Fans will have to wait until season 3 to find out more.
