Star Jensen Ackles teases the wild nature of The Boys season 3's Herogasm episode, saying it traumatized the crew and left the director confused. The next chapter of the hit superhero series will pick up a year after the season 2 finale which finds Homelander doubling back on his actions while slowly going mad and Butcher now working for the government under Hughie's supervision. As the threat of the supes comes to a boiling point, The Boys must come back together with the help of the world's first supe Soldier Boy and a drug that gives anyone superpowers for 24 hours.

Karl Urban returns to lead the cast of The Boys season 3 alongside Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie and Claudia Doumit. The new season will also mark the introduction of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, reuniting the actor with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, showrunner and executive producer on the Prime Video series. With nearly two years of development and production under its belt, The Boys season 3 is gearing up to be one of the craziest seasons yet, but one star thinks audiences aren't prepared for one major episode.

On the heels of the trailer releasing, the cast of The Boys season 3 sat down with Vanity Fair to react to the trailer and share some insight on what's to come from the new season. When looking at the upcoming Herogasm episode, Jensen Ackles warned that audiences "can't unsee it" and that even the director and crew were left in shock of what they had put together. See what Ackles teased below:

"Just the Herogasm I think itself is something that a lot of people are excited to see. I know I was just kind of very curious as to how that was going to work. And even the director was like 'I don't know what I'm shooting anymore.' Our crew looked traumatized. You can't unsee it. That toothpaste will not go back in the tube."

As Ackles notes, anticipation has been high for The Boys season 3's Herogasm episode since it was confirmed that Kripke and co. would be adapting the comic miniseries for the new season. Kripke himself has frequently fueled anticipation for the episode throughout the show's production, having shared an image of his first reaction to the discussion meeting for it in which he appears thoroughly shocked by what he's reading. The series creator has also teased that the unedited footage for The Boys season 3's Herogasm episode would "for sure" receive an X-rating and fulfill comic fans' expectations for its adaptation while still promising they aren't getting "exploitative" with the material.

Ackles himself has previously teased the shocking nature of The Boys season 3's Herogasm episode, recalling his first reactions to have been "holy s--t!" and having talked to a camera operator during filming who said he had "seen some s--t today." With the cast and crew's various teases for the Herogasm adaptation, expectations are certainly high amongst the fan base of the comics, with some even choosing to manage their expectations in the hopes of not being disappointed, especially as Kripke has teased a moment even crazier than the superhero orgy. Only time will tell how it all plays out when The Boys season 3 premieres on June 3.
