The Boys' social media account trolls fans by "spoiling" the season 3 finale. Amazon's bloody superhero satire has been in production on season 3 since earlier this year, and anticipation is steadily rising. Last fall's season 2 brought much critical acclaim upon The Boys, with many praising the performances and real-life connections. The Boys tackled white supremacy and the power of social media on top of its usual skewering of superhero culture. That will only continue into season 3, which is said to dissect American history.

Amazon has yet to announce a premiere date for The Boys season 3, so much of what is ahead remains a mystery. Most members of the show's original cast, led by the likes of Karl Urban and Antony Starr, will return, though a great deal of attention has been placed on newcomer Jensen Ackles. The Supernatural alum will play Soldier Boy on The Boys, one of the universe's original superheroes. That alone would excite fans of the comics the series is based on, but season 3 also has another major event on the way: Herogasm.

With so much to look forward to, fans are eagerly awaiting the next major update on The Boys season 3. On Tuesday, the show's social media account provided one... of a sort. The Boys appeared to spoil the end of season 3 by writing, "Season 3 ends with Hughie waking up in bed with Susanne Pleshette and telling her about the weird dream he had where a guy with a beard kept swearing at him." Hughie actor Jack Quaid chimed in with, "'There was SO much blood! Arguably too much!'"

For those who don't quite get the joke, the 1990 series finale of the sitcom Newhart ended with lead actor Bob Newhart waking up in bed beside actress Suzanne Pleshette, who played his wife on his earlier show The Bob Newhart Show. The series-ending twist was that everything that happened on Newhart was in fact a dream for The Bob Newhart Show's Dr. Bob Hartley. Just to have fun with fans, The Boys has joked that season 3 will end in the same exact way, which is honestly an amusing scenario to consider.

In reality, The Boys season 3 will likely end with another shocking, game-changing twist like the previous finales did. Season 2 had the reveal that righteous Congresswoman Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) was actually the supe behind the mysterious head explosions that had befallen those like Susan Raynor (Jennifer Esposito). Worse still, Hughie had just accepted a job to work with her. Based on that stunning end, The Boys is only bound to get crazier from this point on. The various plot twists and turns would certainly make sense as a fantastical dream for Hughie, but it's probably safe to say the Amazon series will opt for a different conclusion.
