The Boys season 2 set up a huge mystery surrounding what happens to Cindy, but season 3 completely forgot to address her fate. Prime Video's hit superhero show has continued to add new elements to the legacy of Supes and Vought as new seasons release. Season 3 was no different in that it introduced Solider Boy and revealed the shocking truth about Homelander's connection to him. There were also glimpses of the Red River Institute, which became the latest piece of Vought's Supes empire that ranges from raising the next potential heroes or experimenting with the possibilities of Compound V.

Despite how prominent of a role Compound V played in The Boys season 3 as a result of Billy Butcher and Hughie Campbell using Temp-V, the experiments that happened at Sage Grove Center in season 2 did not come up. This includes the show providing no additional insight into what happened to Cindy, the powerful adult Supe who killed several people in season 2 and was last seen walking free into the city. Her absence is all the more notable considering a dangerous Supe like Cindy roaming free should be something that Hughie and Victoria Neuman looked into during their time at the Federal Bureau of Superhuman Affairs.

Will Cindy Return In The Boys Season 4?

The Boys Cindy Powers

Since The Boys season 3 did not feature Cindy, it is only natural to consider the possibility that season 4 is where she will re-enter the story. Showrunner Eric Kripke has confirmed that Cindy will return at some point in the show's future. However, there is no word on if that will come in season 4 or at a later date. Kripke originally reassured viewers that Cindy will return in The Boys at a later date in 2020, even though he did not have any specific plans at the time to bring her back. Clearly, such a plan did not come to his or the show's writers' minds when developing the third season.

Filming is already underway on The Boys season 4, so the full story is already complete. That means that if Cindy is going to return after The Boys season 2, Kripke and the writing team already know if that will come in the upcoming season. If the show is finally going to answer what happened to Cindy after she escaped from Vought, it is likely that her appearance will be kept as a surprise. There are currently no signs that the show is coming to an end, though, so Kripke could keep Cindy's return in his back pocket for a future season of The Boys.

Cindy Could Help The Boys Finally Defeat Homelander

Whenever Cindy does return in The Boys, she could play a pivotal role in helping the team finally defeat Homelander. Cindy's powers give her the ability to manipulate pressure, which when applied to humans can cause them to implode. While the show has teased the limits of what types of objects she can crush, it would seem that her ability to blow up people is universal. Just as Neuman can pop people's heads, Cindy could potentially use her powers to make Homelander explode despite his seemingly indestructible nature.
