The Boys season 3 cast and character guide helps show how special the series is. More than a year and a half after the season 2 finale, The Boys returned to Prime Video for season 3, with season 4 now on the way. The series, created by Eric Kripke and adapted from the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, picked up a year after the explosive events of season 2 and its cast was better and bigger than ever. With the Deep cast back into The Seven, The Boys season 3 saw quite the upheaval in many regards and also showcased more supes than previously seen on the show.

The Boys season 2 left the characters in precarious situations, though it seemed like things were getting better. Stormfront was no longer a threat after Ryan dispatched her with his powers. Butcher joined Grace Mallory's task force, and Hughie teamed up with Congresswoman Victoria Neuman in a bid to stop Supes through legal means. The Boys season 3 saw the titular characters split up for a while, The Deep cast back into The Seven, and a new superhero team known as Payback. Things soon changed though, and they had to regroup as Homelander became more dangerous. The Amazon series saw the main cast returning to their roles, each of whom had a different story this time around. The Boys cast expanded greatly in season 3.

Karl Urban As William "Billy" Butcher

Billy Butcher is the leader of The Boys who harbors a great hatred for Supes after the disappearance of his wife Becca. At the end of The Boys season 2, Butcher joined Grace following the death of Becca. In season 3, Butcher was still working with her and reported to Hughie and Victoria Neuman, who sent him on missions to acquire Supes and bring them into custody.

Butcher is portrayed by Karl Urban, who is best known for playing Bones in the 2009 Star Trek movie and its sequels, Star Trek into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond, as well as Eomer in The Lord of the Rings movies. The actor has also been in Thor: Ragnarok, The Sea Beast, Riddick, the TV series Almost Human, Dredd, The Bourne Supremacy, and Xena: Warrior Princess, where he recurred as Julius Caesar.

Jack Quaid As Hugh "Hughie" Campbell Jr.

Hughie Campbell Jr. was recruited into The Boys after his girlfriend was killed by A-Train in what was called a collateral damage accident. After feeling useless for a long time, however, Hughie joined the powerful Victoria Neuman’s campaign, and even dabbled in Temp-V — granting Hughie temporary powers of his own. Hughie is played by Jack Quaid, who is best known for his roles in The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, where he played Marvel, the fifth installment of Scream, and Logan Lucky. Quaid also voices the character of Ensign Brad Boimler on the animated Star Trek: Lower Decks. He will next be seen in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer.

Antony Starr As Homelander

Homelander is the leader of The Seven, the elite team of super-powered humans controlled by Vought. Homelander is violent, narcissistic, and doesn’t care about hurting or killing people, which is the exact opposite of his public image as the people’s savior. Homelander is incredibly strong, with the ability to shoot lasers from his eyes, crush nearly anything with his bare hands, and fly. Homelander is portrayed by Antony Starr, who is best known for his roles in Wish You Were Here, the TV series Mercy Peak, Outrageous Fortune, American Gothic, and recently appeared in Guy Ritchie's The Covenant. The actor also voiced Homelander in the animated spin-off series The Boys: Diabolical.

Erin Moriarty As Annie January/Starlight

Annie (aka, Starlight) is a member of The Seven, who joined the team believing they genuinely helped people. She was appalled to discover that was the furthest from the truth. However, Starlight herself is sincere in helping people and has joined The Boys in their mission to take down Homelander. Starlight is portrayed by Erin Moriarty, who is best known for her roles in The Watch, Captain Fantastic, Blood Father and Jessica Jones. She also had a recurring role in the HBO series True Detective and the soap opera One Life to Live.

Jessie T. Usher As Reggie Franklin/A-Train

A-Train is a member of The Seven who was kicked off the team for his addiction to Compound V and reinstated at the end of The Boys season 2. A-Train is an antagonist to The Boys, having killed Hughie’s girlfriend Robin, but he has helped after being blackmailed. However, season 3 of The Boys suggested A-Train's redemption is possible as he begins seeing the danger in supes having unchecked power. A-Train is portrayed by Jessie T. Usher, who is known for his roles in Tales of the Walking Dead, Smile, Shaft, Independence Day: Resurgence, Survivor’s Remorse, The Banker, Level Up, and When the Game Stands Tall. He is also confirmed to appear in the upcoming The Boys spinoff, Gen V.

Laz Alonso As Marvin T. "Mother's" Milk

Marvin T. “Mother’s” Milk (aka M.M.) is a member of The Boys who was previously a medic in the U.S. Marines. M.M., like Butcher, also has a specific reason for joining the mission to take down Vought and The Seven. He follows in the footsteps of his father, who fought to bring down Vought legally but died before he could accomplish that. Subsequently, he wrestles with the death of his father in The Boys season 3, as he must team up with Soldier Boy, who he blames for his death. M.M. is played by Laz Alonso, who is known for his roles in Avatar, Wrath of Man, Fast & Furious, and L.A.’s Finest.

Tomer Capon As Serge/Frenchie

Frenchie is a former international arms trafficker who joined The Boys in a bid to make up for his past mistakes. He’s skilled at infiltration and knows a lot about weaponry as well. After Frenchie meets Kimiko, he became protective of the Supe and the pair are now inseparable. Frenchie is played by Tomer Capon, who is known for his roles in When Heroes Fly, Fullmoon, and One Week and a Day.

Karen Fukuhara As Kimiko Miyashiro

Kimiko Miyashiro was forcefully injected with Compound V and kidnapped, then rescued by The Boys in the U.S. She uses sign language to communicate with Frenchie, though season 3 saw her communication skills grow. In season 3, Kimiko temporarily lost her powers, but had to re-take Compound V to protect Frenchie. Kimiko is portrayed by Karen Fukuhara, who is known for her roles in Suicide Squad, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Stray, and Bullet Train.

Chace Crawford As Kevin Moskowitz/The Deep

The Deep is a member of The Seven with the power to communicate with all sea creatures and breathe underwater (thanks to his gills). The Deep was kicked out of The Seven after he assaulted Starlight. Disgraced, he wound up joining the Church of the Collective in a bid to rehabilitate himself and his reputation, before Homelander invited The Deep back into The Seven. The Deep is played by Chace Crawford, who is best known for his role as Nate Archibald in Gossip Girl. He was also in The Covenant, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, All About Nina, and Mountain Men.

Dominique McElligott As Maggie Shaw/Queen Maeve

Queen Maeve is a member of The Seven who was once like Starlight in that she saw the good she could do as a Supe with such power and influence. Over the years, however, she became discouraged and jaded, though her passion for the fight was reignited in The Boys season 2. She stood up to Homelander and used the flight footage — of the both of them abandoning the people to die — as blackmail and continued to sabotage him throughout season 3. Queen Maeve is portrayed by Dominique McElligott, who is best known for her roles in The Last Tycoon, the Netflix series House of Cards, Hell on Wheels, and The Astronaut Wives Club.

Giancarlo Esposito As Stan Edgar

Stan Edgar is the CEO of Vought, the pharmaceutical corporation that controls The Seven and was founded by the Nazi Frederick Vought. Stan is a ruthless businessman and always seems to have a hand in everything — government contracts, Compound V experimentation, and other secrets usually discovered by The Boys. It was revealed in season 3 that he's also Victoria Neuman's adoptive father.

Stan is played by Giancarlo Esposito, who is best known for playing Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Esposito famously played Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian. The actor has also had roles in Godfather of Harlem, Once Upon a Time, The Get Down, Revolution, and voiced Lex Luthor in the animated Harley Quinn series and the narrator in Dear White People. He will soon be seen in Megalopolis, The Electric State, and MaXXXine.

Claudia Doumit As Victoria Neuman

Victoria Neuman is a politician who is seemingly against Vought and Supes being in the military. However, at the end of The Boys season 2, she was revealed to be a Supe herself, with the ability to explode people’s heads at will. Hughie worked for her, until finding out that she's Stan Edgar's adoptive daughter and a supe. With her as a potential Vice President of the United States, Neuman is set up to be a major villain in The Boys season 4. Victoria Neuman is portrayed by Claudia Doumit, who is known for her roles in Timeless, How to Be a Vampire, Scandal, and Where’d You Go, Bernadette.

Colby Minifie As Ashley Barrett

Ashley is a Vought publicist who is promoted following Madelyn Stillwell’s death at the hands of Homelander. Ashley is always stressed, battling one public relations catastrophe after another because the supe team The Seven are very hard to control and often go off-script. Ashley is portrayed by Colby Minifie, who is known for her roles in Jessica Jones, I’m Thinking of Ending Things, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead spin-off show.

Jensen Ackles As Soldier Boy

The super known as Soldier Boy was the leader of the team Payback, which was owned and operated by Vought International. He was a prominent Supe during World War II and stayed on with Vought until his alleged death decades later. Soldier Boy is nearly as powerful as Homelander, with superhuman strength and the ability to emit energy blasts. The Supe is portrayed by Jensen Ackles, who is best known for playing Dean Winchester in all 15 seasons of Supernatural. Ackles has also been in the horror remake My Bloody Valentine, Smallville, and voiced Bruce Wayne/Batman and Jason Todd/Red Hood in the animated films Batman: The Long Halloween and Batman: Under the Red Hood, respectively.

The Boys Supporting Cast & Characters

Miles Gaston Villanueva as Supersonic - Supersonic is a new Supe, an original character created for The Boys. He’s a contestant on the reality competition show American Hero and a former member of a boy band. Starlight's ex-boyfriend was also a contender to join The Seven prior to his death. He’s portrayed by Miles Gaston Villanueva, who is known for his roles in Nancy Drew, The Resident, Law & Order True Crime, and The Young and the Restless.

Aya Cash as Stormfront - Stormfront may have been burned nearly to death, but she survived and is in The Boys season 3 before taking her own life on Homelander's birthday. Previously, she tried to create a super soldier army of Nazis for Homelander to lead, but that plan backfired. Stormfront is portrayed by Aya Cash, who is known for her roles in You’re the Worst, the miniseries Fosse/Verdon, the Hulu series The Girl from Plainville, and We Broke Up.

Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir - Black Noir is a member of The Seven and a previous member of Payback. In The Boys season 2, Black Noir was nearly killed after an allergic reaction to eating an Almond Joy. Season 3 of The Boys finds Black Noir facing his past with some shocking results He is played by Nathan Mitchell, who is known for the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia, iZombie, Psych: The Movie, and has guest starred on Supernatural, Arrow, and Timeless.

Laila Robins as Grace Mallory - Grace Mallory is the former Deputy Director of the CIA. She spearheaded The Boys’ mission and recruited Butcher to work for her around the time that Becca disappeared. She has a vendetta against The Seven as well after Lamplighter burned her grandchildren. Grace is portrayed by Laila Robins, who is known for Eye in the Sky, The Blacklist, The Walking Dead, Homeland, and Planes, Trains & Automobiles.

Katy Breier as Cassandra Schwartz – A member of the Church of the Collective who becomes the Deep's wife. Katy Breier is known for her roles in Moonfall, Run This Town, and Murdoch Murders.

Jim Beaver as Robert Singer - Robert Singer is the U.S. Secretary of Defense who was running for president in The Boys season 3. Jim Beaver is best known for playing Bobby Singer in Supernatural. He has also been in Justified, Nightmare Alley, Crimson Peak, and Deadwood.

Laurie Holden as Crimson Countess - Crimson Countess was a member of Soldier Boy’s team Payback. Laurie Holden is known for her roles in The Americans, The Walking Dead, and The Shield.

Sean Patrick Flanery as Gunpowder - Gunpowder was also a former member of Payback before he's killed by Butcher. Sean Patrick Flanery is best known for his roles in The Boondock Saints, Dexter, The Dead Zone, and The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones.

Katia Winter as Little Nina - Little Nina is a Russian mob boss who is acquainted with Frenchie. Katia Winter is known for her roles in The Catch, Sleepy Hollow, Dexter, and You’re Not Alone.

Nalini Ingrita as Janine - Janine is M.M.’s daughter. Nalini Ingrita is known for her roles in The Boys and What We Do in the Shadows.

Frances Turner as Monique - Monique is M.M.’s ex-wife. Alvina August is known for her roles in New Amsterdam, Gifted, and The Man in the High Castle.

Simon Pegg as Hugh Campbell Sr. - Hugh Campbell Sr., as his name suggests, is Hughie’s father, who came back for The Boys season 3. Simon Pegg — who plays Hughie in The Boys Presents: Diabolical — is best known for his roles in Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End, 2009’s Star Trek and its sequels, and Truth Seekers.

Cameron Crovetti as Ryan - Ryan is Becca and Homelander’s son and who Butcher has taken under his care. Cameron Crovetti is known for his roles in Dirty John and HBO’s Big Little Lies.

Malcolm Barrett as Seth Reed - Seth Reed is a member of Vought’s marketing and development team who assists the Supes. Malcolm Barrett is known for his roles in Timeless, Genius, and Preacher.

Christian Keyes as Nathan Franklin - Nathan Franklin is A-Train’s older brother and trainer. Christian Keyes is known for his roles in Saints & Sinners, the superhero series Legends of Tomorrow, Supernatural, and In Contempt.

Kristin Booth as Tessa and Jack Doolan as Tommy - Tessa and Tommy are collectively known as the TNT Twins, who were previously members of Soldier Boy’s team, Payback. Kristin Booth is known for her roles in Orphan Black and Signed, Sealed, and Delivered. Jack Doolan is known for his roles in White Gold and Marcella.

Sabrina Saudin as Ashley - Ashley is the assistant for Ashley Barrett. Sabrina Saudin is known for her roles in Locke & Key and Don’t Hang Up.

Joel Labelle as Airburst - Airburst was a member of Payback. Joel Labelle is known for his role as Alaric in Shadowhunters.

Ryan Blakely as Mindstorm - Mindstorm is also a member of The Boys’ Payback. Ryan Blakely is known for his roles in Orphan Black, Nurses, and Gangland Undercover.

Who Is Joining The Boys Cast In Season 4?

The Boys season 4 is on the way after an explosive third installment, and there are some new cast members added to the team. Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead) has been cast in an undisclosed role for The Boys season 4. In addition, Valorie Curry (The Lost Symbol) will be playing a supe named Firecracker, and Susan Heyward (Orange is the New Black) is in the role of a supe named Sister Sage. Since all of The Boys made it out alive, Hughie, Frenchie, Butcher, Kimiko, and M.M. will all be back for season 4.

The Seven has never had an easy time keeping members, however, Homelander unfortunately survived. The same can't be said for Black Noir, though it's been hinted that because he's completely masked up the moniker will pass on to someone else, possibly following the Homelander-clone storyline from the comics. Therefore, Starlight, A-Train, The Deep, and Ashley will all be returning.

In addition, Cameron Crovetti's Ryan has been upgraded to a series regular. Since Victoria Neuman is set to become the Vice President of the United States, she'll likely play a role in The Boys season 4, but the same can't be said for the now-disgraced Stan Edgar, who will probably show up in a limited capacity. Like Edgar, Maeve's fate is in the air since going into hiding after losing her powers, and Soldier Boy has been put back on ice. Either way, The Boys season 4 has plenty of new supes in store.
