Love Sausage ISN’T The Boys’ Most Disgusting Supe After All

Thought Love Sausage was the grossest, most disgusting supe in The Boys? Think again. Superheroes with flight, super-strength and heat vision are nothing new, but Amazon's The Boys (based on the comic series by Garth Ennis) takes the art of superpowers into twisted and offbeat territory. There's Gecko, who can chop off his own limbs before growing them back, and the Sage Grove patient bestowed with acidic vomit. No doubt The Boys season 3 will offer even more in the messed-up superhero stakes. Until then, easily the most disgusting supe in The Boys is Love Sausage.

Another prisoner housed at the Sage Grove facility, Love Sausage (a riff on Butcher's well-endowed ally from the original comic books) has a power you won't see in the Avengers or Justice League anytime soon. Unlike the comic version (who was simply blessed between the legs), The Boys' live-action Love Sausage possesses genitalia powered by Compound-V, able to extend his super-salami like a grappling tentacle. During the Boys' assault on Sage Grove, Mother's Milk is unfortunate enough to get assailed by Mr. Sausage's flailing appendage, forced to unfurl the length from around his neck as penile suffocation beckons.

Love Sausage might be the grossest supe The Boys has to offer in live-action, but he'd be lucky to reach top 3 after The Boys Presents: Diabolical, which introduces a raft of heroes that make a downstairs hug from Love Sausage look like a walk in the park. Unsurprisingly, most of the slippery suspects can be found in "An Animated Short Where Pissed Off Supes Kill Their Parents," an episode from the mind of Rick & Morty's Justin Roiland. Giving Love Sausage a run his money is Picante Balls, a supe with a pair of sizzling hot testicles. The molten mess you'd get if Picante's power was combined with that of Love Sausage would be truly Diabolical. Another contender is Boobie Face, whose name speaks for itself. While Love Sausage at least possesses the capacity to shrink his V-powered body part, Boobie Face gets no such privilege, forced to walk around with a pair of breasts swinging over his eyes with no way to hide them.

Whether or not Boobie Face and Picante Balls are more disgusting than The Boys' Love Sausage is a matter of personal taste, but two supes from The Boys: Diabolical undoubtedly have the penis-powered prisoner beaten. Our final representative from "An Animated Short Where Pissed Off Supes Kill Their Parents" is, ahem... Ranch Dressing C*m-Squirter. As the name suggests, this poor soul (or lucky soul, depending on your perspective) pumps out ranch dressing. That the Randy Rancher is shown adding white sauce to burgers at a fast food restaurant (in The Boys: Diabolical's spoof trailer) only adds to the grimness of his Compound-V "gift." Moving onto Awkwafina's "BFFs" episode, Sky embues herself with Vought's blue goo and receives the ability to bring poop to life, commanding a turd army in her battle against The Deep. Just like Ranch Dressing guy, Sky makes Love Sausage look positively tame by comparison.

Whether Sky or Ranch Dressing Squirter is the most disgusting supe in The Boys comes down to individual preference - whether sentient poop or sour cream semen is more effective at invoking nausea. One thing's for sure - they've both beaten Love Sausage. As the legendary Herogasm event in The Boys season 3 rapidly approaches, however, Mr. Sausage could soon find himself slipping further down the pecking order of gross supes in Amazon's superhero world.
